[WORLD TWO | INVASIVE QUESTIONS]
Want to know what exactly monitors will say when your character questions them? Feel free to ask IC questions on this post and see what information your character gleans!
[ ooc: The responses will come tomorrow! The mod in charge of this post is handling something IRL right now, but questions will be responded to on the 19th. ]

Heeeey, what's going on with all of this?
[upon being given some kind of answer, and with a wide-eyed innocence:]
So all of the warriors and watchers are just a precaution? What else are you doing to protect us?

[and later, approaching a different monitor who's gone extra squinty at the coven for magic usage lately]
Look, I have to ask -- is magic considered a danger to the citizens in some way? I've just been wondering about it since we were told on entry, since other cities we've visited have been more lax on such restrictions.

[notably, he asks a couple of different monitors in very different areas these things to compare responses! he also makes sure they're within his power range so he can get a bead on what emotions they feel when he asks.
he also has one of those passive-aggressive flyers very obviously in hand when he talks to at least one of them. as you do.]

Under the assumption that magic is, to some extent, real . . . [ because alchemists don't believe in this nonsense, thank you very much ] Why do you detest it? Why do you forbid it? Following that, what is the punishment for those who practice magic within the city limits? Are they afforded due process, are they jailed, or do you simply kick them out?
[ he pauses. ]
Most importantly, who is in charge of making these decisions, and how are these decisions made?
[ roy could keep going, but. you know. they're probably not even going to answer these, so there's little to no point in badgering them. ]

As for magic, how do you track its use?

[And later while on break.]
I assume there's a great deal of the city we outsiders just haven't been permitted to see. ...if we're not trusted why are so many people suggesting foreigners become citizens?

[ Pure(?) curiosity from the mind of a businessman!!! If fluffing up his questions won't work then Percival can take the fall for everyone, probably.
In another instance: ]
Magic is banned yet weaponry is allowed. Hmm... Knowing that my neighbor can buy a gun doesn't make me feel safe, and I so abhor violence—especially violence caused by magic. But that's why I'm grateful for the laws Shehui has in place.
[ This is 50% bullshit but he's trying. ]
Tell me: when was the last time magic caused any problems for you?

There was a problem with the fireworks, right? Was everyone okay? Do you guys need help fixing anything?
