ahaha nah i was happy to be of help to an rper!! i was sad i couldn't thank you for your message but i'm glad for this coincidence pff. and it was no problem at all! i'm just glad people liked them

I sure did link several android-playing friends too, and I'm sure plenty of folks on Reddit appreciated it as well (yes I'm everywhere for automatoes). I'm likewise glad we crossed paths, I didn't know if you RPed but DW is basically made of RPers.
Do hit me up if I can ever work on anything with 9S that you notice. I've read up on all the translations I can find for supplemental material, but there's a lot to keep in mind.
no subject
oh don't worry i'm sure you're fiiine! there's a hella lot of stuff though yeah lmfksjhdg but as far as i know, anything important has been translated now anyway so at least everything's out there!!
no subject
I've got a clutch of documents in case anything ever goes down, and for offline reading. As a lit major I totally dig having so much to read and analyze and think about. I'm still not over YoRHa units' misconception of Valentine's Day, what a precious detail.
no subject
ahah oh no cute ... good idea though. and YEAH i think i was squeaking at my friends about how cute that was when i was going through it.
no subject
It's adorable, and I was so glad to have the opportunity to read it. I've got the guide books but with my level of Japanese I can only pick up bits and pieces as of yet.
Now I have to ask, have you read the KH Ultimanias? Those things look like tomes...
no subject
aaah then GOOD LUCK IMPROVING and stuff!! i've lived in japan for a year now and i think that's contributed to me being faster with this stuff and is the reason i was able to even finish it ahah. i'm sure your level will be kickass soon enough ;a;
oh man i haven't but i really should someday ... automata is the one time i've gone so hard with supplemental material bc i know yoko taro puts so much in that.
no subject
Thanks! I'm hoping once I finish up with my degree I'll have a bit more energy to devote to it. I imagine living in Japan makes a big difference though, what with immersion. Do you do one of those programs like JET?
It's so awesome that Yoko Taro oversaw the writing of the side material, I can't think of many canons where this was the case. I'm rather looking forward to the NieR event in SINoALICE too.
no subject
yeah i don't think i did a lot of studying in college aside from for my classes for it ... which was minimal bc i was already ahead of the classes anyway. too much time doing things for other classes @-@ and yeah i'm in jet! immersion does indeed make a huge difference.
he's so good with his stories, ugh. my storytelling idol ;a; i need to get back into playing sinoalice so i can see what happens with that. i suck at keeping up with mobage pfff.
no subject
I was toward the top of my classes, but it was mostly pouring a lot of work in since foreign language has never come all that easy for me. How's the program treating you?
Right? I really admire his storytelling philosophy too. The NieR event is coming on the 24th Japan time for SINo...

his everything is just amazing. and aaah then i'll have to get back into it before then ... i think i saw the little mermaid character was released too a while back maybe (unless i'm misremembering)? and she looks cute so i wanna see what's up with her ...
no subject
Yeah, Little Mermaid was released! We have Breaker and Minstrel versions from gacha and you get Gunner from story. The first couple chapters of hers are released. She's certainly interesting in terms of her mentality and motivation, so I'd be curious to hear your opinion if you get around to it.
no subject
ooooo good i'm excited to see her. i think all of them are interesting in terms of their mentality ahaha. i was having trouble picking who's my favorite because all of them have some neat traits but then their mentality is like NOT SURE IF DEALBREAKER. i'll find a favorite someday. they're all super interesting to read about though.
no subject
Yeah they're all very interesting, and I'm enjoying gradually learning more about them. Alice is definitely my favorite, and her struggle reminds me a little of 2B with respect to "the only way to stay sane is repress hard", though with her own distinctions. What I'm most curious about is whether the characters are amalgamations of various interpretations of their author's work, since Alice's Paladin job story is an allusion to American McGee's Alice. So many questions remain. Gotta tell me who your favorite is when you decide! Our local Julius likes Snow best.

i am definitely living the sora life. and the alola life. i am in all the anime things tbh. and aah makes sense. jet is actually great for saving money, at least so long as youre not placed in like tokyo or another big city. i've hears lots of people use it and other programs to pay off their student loans and such since the cost of living for most of us tends to be hella low. i hope you can get into one if you try it!!
aaah alice is cute i like her too. but wow that's cool if they are. i don't know enough about all their different versions to be able to tell myself. i will certainly let you know when i pick one!!
no subject
Your life is anime and all is well. It's definitely something I'll investigate once I'm closer to that point. My only worry is that I'll feel lonesome since I'm pretty shy and soft-spoken when left to my own devices and I've always been around family. But my field of study is English literature so at the least it's...what I'm educated for.
The versions are just different jobs, which have job stories and tell you a bit more about them. It's rather good thus far and I'm really curious to see where it goes. I think book two might have some interesting reveal for Gretel but I can only pick out parts that give me a good idea of what's up but I still await full context from the fandom's friendly neighborhood translator.
no subject
oh yeah i'm super the same way. it takes a lot for me to speak up to talk to people. but at least at my placement, everyones so friendly and familial and outgoing that they do that work for me so i dont worry as much ahah. everything just depends on where you go.
ooh wow. i def need to get back into it ... is the translator still consistently working on it? i was so happy to see there was a translator bc i took screenshots in the beginning to translate later just in case and i was relieved when there was a good and consistent translator already lmfjdjs and whens book 2?
no subject
Hopefully if I give it a try, I'll have a good environment. How long did it take you to get used to addresses over there, if you don't mind my asking? They always look like fresh hell to me, but I figure it's one of those things a person gets used to.
Yeah Wasu has been chugging along pretty consistently. He's even mentioned studying up on the NieR Automata characters to see their speech patterns because he's eager to translate the event that starts tomorrow. I recommended a LP so he could incorporate in-game lines and the like if they're echoed in the event content, and referenced your translations when talking to him in the SA discord server. Book 2 is actually out already, and has been for a while, but it's coming in parts. A new character will come in book 2 other than Little Mermaid, I think it's Dorothy from Wizard of Oz.

i don't really need them much so luckily their weirdness isn't too big a deal ahah. i'm like semi used to them but i don't pay much attention and if i ever need to find someplace i can just use my gps in my phone. my actual address is weird even for a jp one tho so even natives look confused at it and i've gotten several calls from ups when i've had psckages arrive in tokyo from overseas and theyre like 'ok pls clarify the address' and im like uugh.
oooh thats great! writing the characters to be localized was my favorite part of the translating aha. i'd offer to help but alas i have too many setbacks happening in my life rn wagh. i hope he has fun with it tho!! and oh i need to catch up kdhdh
no subject
When UPS needs you to clarify an address...wow. That seems like it'd be quite something to contend with. But it's good that it's not particularly hard to get accustomed to, at least.
I think since he's translating the Automata event for SINoALICE he's been squinting at a few terms and trying to sort out how to localize them, so I suggested if he got stick on any I could run them by you. So far we figured out a couple of them by referring to game cutscenes and the like, but I hope you don't mind me asking how you'd adapt certain terms if he's stumped on any of them. You're more familiar with Automata than he is.
no subject
yeah it's not too bad pffff so no need to worry about it really!
and ah sure of course! just pp me on plurk or something with any questions you have. i got pretty familiar with a lot of thingsin the game and their language differences when i was translating the novellas so hopefully i can help!
no subject
I'll keep that in mind. How was getting used to living there? If I can ask you yet more questions.
Will do! So far he seems to be plugging along okay but if he gets stuck on any terms I'll let you know on plurk. I've already mentioned and linked your stuff to him before because A+ localization and he's mentioned wanting to localize things as well as he can.
no subject
and aah thank you fkdhd i'm still glad people like them. i'm sure you could easily help with 9s's speech patterns and stuff too! he's the most fun to write tbh ... but yes let me know if you need any help!!
no subject
I offered to give a hand if he needs it, yeah. 9S' voice is the one that really catches and hence my RP choices. He really is fun to write.
