ou blink and that's all it takes. At first, the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelery inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes.
B ▢ The recent surge of rain has caused a few marshy areas, be it in the forest or a hilly landscape. Some swampy ground is more aggravating than treacherous, but the opposite is also true. Your character is strolling along, trying to find their way and all of a sudden SCHLUMP! Their leg is sunk into the ground up to their nether regions. Struggle, and the rest of them might fall in too...! C ▢ While your character is trying to figure out where the fuck they are, they may come across something scuttling about through the forest. Don't panic -- it's simply a scanner pod doing its due diligence and scouting for resources...oh! And it just happened upon something interesting: your character! This scanner robot is curious to investigate and record your data. Is your character going to trust them to do their job, or will they be suspicious of this looming machine? |
Here's the part where they finally locate something of use: the base camp. The murky, weathered location is a little distressed, and resource gathering is making coven members sparse. However, that doesn't mean helpful answers aren't only a step away.
E ▢ Speaking of Qri's caravan, the floating "vehicle" currently has its trap door, hammerspace portal open. It's quite large and inviting, honestly. Want to get closer to Qri? Or maybe just take shelter from the few sprinkles that are still falling from the sky? Crawl on in! Just be warned: the door will close right behind your character, and that thing gets claustrophobic after a while. F ▢ Finally, since Brie is aware that a new world is approaching, she's gotten a little more weapon-obsessed. There are an assortment of weapons just laying all over the place, from swords to spears, from slingshots to...god, what even is that thing your character has never seen before. Whether they're curious about something and like to touch things that don't belong to them or Brie is trying to outfit them with a weapon that works for them, your character is now weaponized. What do??? G ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
you wouldn't download a sword
Have you concluded anything?
[Everyone around them seems slightly bothered -- maybe even concerned? But Daichi seems fine enough, which only leaves room for irritation. Like nails on a chalkboard.]
They all seem to have survived.
my fav cube...
Y-yeah, they're doing great... That's just stage one! Stage two is, um... [One of the spears he managed to catch slips anyway in his awkward grip, the end of it that's touching the floor scraping against it awfully. Daichi, superbly, winces.] Stage two is putting them all back where they came from.
Great spears, though. Real good. Can't imagine better spears than this.
that's sweet of you....
[He's bending forward to claim one -- one of the smaller spears, but just as sharp as the rest. He's only under such an impression because Daichi's speaking so masterfully about their 'stages' and whatnot.]
What will you use them for?
cube > other aliens, known fact
[He's definitely not, but "probably" makes it sound like maybe he's doing more than wasting other people's time in here.]
Do you need a spear? Didn't think this was your kinda stuff. [being a magical alien and all, of course.]
(ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
[He sounds neither disappointed nor relieved at that revelation. In that case, he'll lean it up against the nearest wall...something about putting them all back where they came from?]
Should I? [He hadn't planned on taking one, doubly if Daichi wasn't the one who made them. Something about human courtesy...] I would prefer not to, I'm afraid it wouldn't suit me.
[And not because of his magical alien stuff, but because he's never attended Arm Day a day in his life and hauling a giant pole weapon around would be cumbersome.]
no subject
But he'll work on putting these spears back instead!! It's not going to look nearly as nice or ordered as it did before he Daichi'd it all up, but he's trying. And also trying to picture this skinny nerd carrying a spear around... hilarious.]
Yeah, I know what you mean. You're waaay smaller up close than I thought you'd be— some of these things are bigger than you are! [Daichi? Is this friendship?] Oh, hey— do your, y'know, you powers still work? My app's completely busted!
1/2
Alcor helps just a bit; for every three or so Daichi's set up, Alcor's arranging one -- realigning it. His seem to prefer the ground.]
Have I disappointed you?
[It's the only human bod he's got....some of these spears are just giant ok.]
no subject
Perhaps there's no need for it here. [He could make an effort to understand the functionality, or lack thereof, his program...but he's not totally sure what's going on for himself.] I've felt unusual since my arrival here.
[Which means, no, not entirely.]
no subject
He settles for laughing, awkwardly, because of course he does.]
R-right... you're on the ground and everything. But if they want everyone to grab a real weapon, doesn't that mean there are things to fight? I'd feel better with demons, as ironic as that is.
no subject
This is also why he's trying to move minimally -- like, combined with the fact that every spear is bigger than he is. Walking, moving, squatting, he's still a bit like Bambi on on a frozen pond.]
Weapons have always been readily available for humankind, even for those with no need for them. Would you feel invulnerable carrying something like that?
[He's indicating forward with a forefinger; it looks like a backscratcher with a giant claw at the end of it.]
no subject
I don't think I've ever felt invulnerable, uh, ever, so... [He shrugs, shoving what is mercifully the last spear back into place (or close enough) before looking at the giant... claw thing. Um.]
Thaaaat's just kind of dumb-looking, don't you think?
no subject
What of the item next to it?
[A butterfly net.]
no subject
That's... better? I guess? If you want to catch bugs...
[He raises an eyebrow; do you want to catch bugs, my dude?]
no subject
Is there something you'll be using the insects for once they've been seized?
no subject
Wait, I thought you were gonna catch bugs. I'm not doing that! Gross...
no subject
[He'll fold his hands behind his back.]
It would seem only you can decide.
no subject
[Hm. Yeah, he doesn't really want any of these? Not until he gets his plucky pacifism stomped on again, anyway. Much better idea:]
Let's shop for you first!
no subject
But on the other hand, he doesn't want any of these things. Imagine Alcor having to be responsible for an item that isn't compact enough to slip into a pocket? On the other-other hand, Daichi sounded awfully excited about shopping for him.]
Alright.
[And suddenly he's not pointing anything out anymore as per not...being interested in anything for himself....the floor's yours, guy.]
no subject
He points at a- whip kind of thing, a whip with blades on it, and shuffles toward it. This thing??]
How about one of these, uh, things? Eh? It's got your color... [He says this last part like it's very convincing, the most important thing, but really there's just some red on the handle.]
no subject
Alright.
[He would've gone along with anything Daichi picked out. A kite, a dong, a knife whip. It's reminiscent of his whippy appendage, at the very least.
The thing about the colors matching, that's entirely lost on him. He's continuing the trend of not asking a dang thing, more preoccupied with slowly...making his way toward Daichi and that weapon. It's a precarious thing, using his legs.]
no subject
But as he watches Alcor apparently not know how his fine alien body works, he frowns, concerned.]
Hey, um- do you need a hand?
no subject
Perhaps.
[His response couldn't be more blasé.]
It's still difficult for me to ascertain how big of a pace I should be using.
no subject
Here. Let's do this.
no subject
It takes him approximately ten seconds before he realizes that arm's an offering similar to a crutch, stability. He'll take it with both hands, awkwardly gripping his forearm in two fists parallel to eachother. Like he's holding some handlebars....]
How should we proceed?
no subject
Okay, hold on. Hold onto your stripes.
[Stay with him, he's going to make this potentially better and potentially way worse. Which means he shuffles to be right in front of Alcor, lightly shaking off his grip to just take both of his hands instead, arms length apart like a middle school dance.
Stay with him though, for real.]
Alright, so... I'll... go backwards! Line up your feet with mine?
