TDMs can be used for anyone interested in the game and/or testing out a new muse.

Test Drive samples are encouraged to be used for your application sample, though they are NOT a requirement.

Feel free to use one prompt, multiple prompts or make up your own!

These threads can be considered game canon upon game opening if you so choose.

Telepathy and magic can be used at any point in time on the TDM, from Prompt A to your wildcard prompt. A specific prompt exists, however, that makes sure all characters have an equal chance to use this mechanic within the TDM. You're encouraged to have characters use telepathy and their magic accidentally or even purposefully on any TDM prompt.

If you aren't set on your character's power yet or want to try out a few, you're still able to use the test drive. Maybe your character is a late bloomer and hasn't fully unlocked their intuitive drive yet. In the case of multiple powers, only prompts that contain the power you choose for your application will count as potential game canon threads.

While only one character can be apped or reserved during a cycle, feel free to post with more than one character if you like! This is for those who are uncertain of their first choice or who would like to try out different characters within the setting.

IMPORTANT: This world is low-frequency. No canon powers or abilities are allowed! Also check out the setting information for more info about what the hub island looks like and what can be found there.

ou blink and that's all it takes. At first, the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelery inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes. A ▢ THus hub island is getting pretty chilly, which means the forest that contains the large, dinner-plate sized spiders is very still and quiet. No spiders are out and about to jump your characters -- but they are underground, lying in wait. Sometimes the best way for characters to get accustomed to their magic is to trigger their fight or flight response. One wrong step in the forest and they'll find their foot through a spider's brushy trapdoor or putting a little too much pressure on it for their liking. Are you ready to see what your character is made of? B ▢ The recent surge of rain has caused a few marshy areas, be it in the forest or a hilly landscape. Some swampy ground is more aggravating than treacherous, but the opposite is also true. Your character is strolling along, trying to find their way and all of a sudden SCHLUMP! Their leg is sunk into the ground up to their nether regions. Struggle, and the rest of them might fall in too...! C ▢ While your character is trying to figure out where the fuck they are, they may come across something scuttling about through the forest. Don't panic -- it's simply a scanner pod doing its due diligence and scouting for resources...oh! And it just happened upon something interesting: your character! This scanner robot is curious to investigate and record your data. Is your character going to trust them to do their job, or will they be suspicious of this looming machine?

Here's the part where they finally locate something of use: the base camp. The murky, weathered location is a little distressed, and resource gathering is making coven members sparse. However, that doesn't mean helpful answers aren't only a step away. D ▢ One thing of note is that as they get closer to the base camp, characters will feel more and more of that strong, telepathic surge. Qri's caravan is sitting in the middle of the open area, which may explain the stronger magical signals. Traveling closer to this object, in particular, will cause that unfamiliar pang of intuition to feel that much stronger -- which also explains why their own thoughts are being broadcast recklessly to everyone else on the island. E ▢ Speaking of Qri's caravan, the floating "vehicle" currently has its trap door, hammerspace portal open. It's quite large and inviting, honestly. Want to get closer to Qri? Or maybe just take shelter from the few sprinkles that are still falling from the sky? Crawl on in! Just be warned: the door will close right behind your character, and that thing gets claustrophobic after a while. F ▢ Finally, since Brie is aware that a new world is approaching, she's gotten a little more weapon-obsessed. There are an assortment of weapons just laying all over the place, from swords to spears, from slingshots to...god, what even is that thing your character has never seen before. Whether they're curious about something and like to touch things that don't belong to them or Brie is trying to outfit them with a weapon that works for them, your character is now weaponized. What do??? G ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster!

Chika-chan? Please, answer me if you're Chika.

[ Hearing the familiar voice in her head is confusing more than anything. It wouldn't surprise Riko if this was her ears playing tricks on herself. Does she hope there'll be an answer, though? A little, which she knows is selfish. This world is dangerous and apparently they're going to another place soon, and who possibly knows what awaits them there. ]

Riko-chan?

[ is that really her? ]

Riko-chan... ! Ahh, I'm so happy to hear your voice! I was so worried!

[oceanaria]

[ Why is Chika so worried about the Love Live? There's still time, which occurs to Riko just after a while. Honestly, Riko can't think of the Love Live any minute longer after Chika confirms to be...well, herself. ]

Chika-chan, where are you? I'm coming for you!

[ Usually, Chika is the person to save everyone, to cheer them up. Now it's Riko's turn. ]

[heartholder]

I'm near some sort of... caravan? It looks kind of like a camp!

[oceanaria]

Thank god she's not in the forest...

[ Riko meant to murmur this to herself, but well. After realizing her grave mistake, she seems flustered. ]

N-Nothing, nothing! Just wait for me there, okay? Don't go anywhere, I'm on my way.

[ Leaving her hut as she speaks, Riko breaks into a sprint heading into the direction where she saw the caravan last time. It's still in the same spot, thankfully. ]

Chika-chan?

[heartholder]

[ chika doesn't respond, instead simply waiting and rocking back and forth on the balls of her heels, impatient. as soon as she sees riko in the distance, though, her face lights up brilliantly. ]

Riko-chan!

[ get ready, because chika is charging toward her to throw her arms around her as tight as she can. ]

I'm so glad you're here. I... I didn't know if...

[ she didn't know if she'd see her again anytime soon. ]

[oceanaria]

Chika-chan...

[ Her friend might have not said it out loud, but it doesn't take much for Riko to realize what she meant. And the same thing goes for her, too. ]

Are you alright? You didn't get hurt on your way here, right?

[ It's literally the first question that comes to her mind knowing how Chika pushes herself.]

[heartholder]

W-Well... ehehe...

[ she rubs the back of her neck, an embarrassed little smile curving her lips. ]

I sort of got stuck in the mud, but don't worry! I managed to get out.

[ she gestures to her ruined skirt, the hem stained with it. ]

[oceanaria]

[ Riko knows what that certain chuckle means when she hears it. ]

It's been raining really hard sometime ago...

[ Before realizing it, Riko takes her friends hands in hers and returns the smile. ]

I'm glad you're okay. Have you heard about the magic and everything?

[heartholder]

Magic?

[ her eyes widen, lips parting in surprise. ]

No, I... just sort of woke up here. But it's time to go home, right? Right, Riko-chan?

[ chika gives her hands a squeeze, the expression on her face rather desperate. they can go home, right? ]

[oceanaria]

[ Ah, in this case magic has to wait. ]

Chika-chan...

[ How is she supposed to tell her the heartbreaking truth? ]

We've been here with Dia-san for almost two months. Ruby-chan arrived a little while ago.

[ It's not a clear answer to her question, but it's hiding behind these words. They don't know how to get back. ]

[heartholder]

What?

[ chika blinks.

no. that can't be possible. it can't be. ]

... It's not funny to joke like that, Riko-chan!

[ she tries to laugh, but it's strained, forced. she has to be joking. that's the obvious conclusion to come to. ]

[oceanaria]

I'm sorry, Chika-chan...

[ As much as she'd like to imitate Mari's voice and say It's joke! in a chirpy voice, there's no way she could do that. ]

I'm afraid we have to stay here for a while.

[heartholder]

But... but...

[ chika hangs her head for a moment before snapping back up again, giving riko a serious look and clenching her fists so hard her knuckles turn white. ]

The Love Live! We have to get to the Love Live, or else... or else...

[ or else what will there be to remember their school by?

but riko mentioned months. if that's true, then...

wouldn't they have already missed it? ]

[oceanaria]

I know how important it is to you...no, how important it is to us all.

[ Riko puts her hand on top of Chika's head and gives her what she hopes to be a reassuring pat. ]

I'm not sure how time works here, to be honest. Have you noticed that we were gone...?

[heartholder]

No! Everyone has been together. I don't understand... I don't know what happened!

[ there's mild panic rising in her voice. ]

One minute we were practicing, and the next... it's all fuzzy. But you and Dia-san and Ruby-chan were definitely, definitely there!

[oceanaria]

[ It hurts. Riko's intention wasn't to make Chika, the literal sunshine, panic. But what's done is done.

This time it's Riko who wraps her arms around the other girl and pulls her into a hug. If she gives up and starts panicking with Chika, it'll be no good. Definitely no good. ]

It's okay. Everything will be alright.

[ She truly hopes so. ]

Just promise me that you'll take it easy.

[heartholder]

N-No...

[ chika can feel her eyes stinging with unshed tears. she does everything she can to hold them back. the last thing riko needs is to comfort her. riko has been here far longer than she has. ]

It must have been... so hard on you... so hard on you and Dia-san and Ruby-chan... A-And you're saying you can't find a way home?

[ it's not like chika to give up.

and she won't. she won't give up.

but with riko's arms wrapped around her so gently, how is it possible not to allow herself to cry a little? chika buries her head in the space between her shoulder and neck with a sniffle. ]

[oceanaria]

Always thinking of us instead of yourself.

[ Is this a good moment for scolding? No, definitely not, but Riko's tone isn't as harsh as it usually is. It's soft and gentle more than anything. ]

Dia-san said that it can be a good experience for us. It'll help our bonds to grow stronger. We can gain new friends, learn new things...I'd like to get home as soon as possible, don't get me wrong. But I think Dia-san is right.

[ If Riko didn't choose to believe this, she'd be stuck in a hut, afraid of taking a single step outside and idly waiting for a savior to appear. ]

[heartholder]

But... it's not all nine of us.

It's not the same. Aqours isn't Aqours without all nine of us. How can our bonds grow stronger without each other... ?

[ she tightens her hold around riko, shaking her head. ]

[oceanaria]

It's not, you're right.

[ Riko was afraid that this might not be convincing enough for Chika, but what else she could do? The corners of her eyes finally start to get wet, but she's not breaking into tears just yet. ]

I miss everyone too. I want us to practice together again. I missed you, Chika-chan. I didn't want you to arrive here but at the same time I wanted to see you.

[heartholder]

[ a wet, humorless laugh. ]

I missed you, too, Riko-chan. You never went anywhere, and yet... I still missed you.

[oceanaria]

We'll look for a way out together, okay? I promise you that. I want to see you shine...I want to see every single of us shine together.

[ Riko can tell that the tears are forming in her eyes, but she's smiling nonetheless. ]

[heartholder]

... I want the same thing. I want to shine for you. So...

So no more moping around!

[ chika gently detaches herself from the hug to rest her hands on riko's shoulders. ]

We'll find our way home, together. I'm sure of it.

[oceanaria]

We will.

[ Riko nods in agreement with her dear friend, her smile growing wider. ]

Do you want me to show you around? We've been told that we'll be setting out for another world soon, though...

[ She has mixed feelings about it, but what can she do? It's too much for a plain girl like her, but now she has one more reason to smile more often. ]
