OOC NOTES

▢ First up, there's been a slight change to the Bonus AC system -- you can see the change here! There's an explanation of cumulative BAC rewards, as well as a new individual reward system. Your first individual reward will be a custom dagger made by Brie, as well as primary access to a newly discovered resource! What is that resource? You'll find out in November... ▢ The AC spreadsheet is here, and any threads you have for October can be added to the spreadsheet. All the characters are listed as green/pass from now on -- you'll know you've officially passed when white text reads PASS and you only have to worry when it turns red and says FAIL. It's just a headache to have to switch them all back to white all the time!

IC EVENTS

▢ As mentioned last week, the moon is still effecting those nocturnal deer and other fun stuff: read more about it here! ▢ Characters are doing a lot around this place, from Jay/Nike's food co-op to Percivals orchard cleanup.

PROMPTS

▢ The coven is experiencing some over-crowding. With about 50 huts available and 70+ characters, more living arrangements need to be made. They won't be much, but Brie is organizing some characters who would like to help build a set of 10 tiny houses. These small log cabins will be built by 20 characters and will hold 2 people each -- so if you want a more luxurious lodging experience that for sure won't be infested with boar babies or clacking crabs, reply to this thread. The lodgings will also be located to the east of the coven base camp, which will help with the locational over crowding. Your character will be living where they work, so teams will consist of two randomized characters. ▢ For some reason, lasting all day on the 18th, telepathy suddenly goes a little crazy. Qri is absorbing the energy of all those Elto bones, which is briefly surging the network -- though characters don't know that. This can cause some oversharing, accidental network flashes and burning/tingling where your character's signet is. This won't last for more than 24 hours, but it does have the potential to be annoying or awkward. ▢ For those who are more spiritually inclined, something about the island begins to feel more...thick on the 20th. Why? What's the deal? It's hard to say right now -- but there are some quiet spiritual whispers that are winding around the island, and the emotional energy is quite solemn. Let's see where this goes in the coming weeks.

LODGING BUILDING

This will involve cutting down trees, creating the framing and furnishing the house. There's also some roofing to be done.. These lodges may not have running water, but they will be spacier and better for shelter. Will they look great? Probably not! But you do want a place to live, don't you?

QUESTION: will Elto bones that characters have kept stockpiled but not given to Qri/Genette be affected in a noticeable way (or at all) on the 18th?

They may surge and glow slightly, but they won't have their magic be taken away!

I also have a question about the Elto bones — the pendants, rather!

Would their ability to enhance magic also affect how one might actually cast a spell? Like, say, for instance, instead of needing to be right next to a person in order to use her once-a-day heal, could Madoka, while wearing the pendant and with a lot of practice, concentrate that energy and throw it at someone instead? Or way down the line, could she use it as a very brief and energy-sucking AOE?

I am mostly thinking along these lines because I'm not sure the Elto bones could enhance her healing power, as long as the cooldown is — it already heals pretty much everything!

Questions! 2/3 pretty dumb, sorry.

1 - where are the 20-ish extra living now/until the cabins get built?
2 - I'm not totally sure what the status of certain things is based on the settings page vs the tdm prompts -- like, is the bath house actually a gross mess? (or relatedly where would a log cabin character go for running water, etc.? did the huts actually have running water?)
3 - likewise, and this may not be the right place for it, but because I wasn't sure from the intro post (like not everyone did the tdm) -- did characters still receive knapsacks with clothes, random items, and shrimp, etc?

One more question, since we were chatting about it on Plurk! If any characters are sleeping when the disturbances start (on the morning or night of the 18th, or just napping), would accidental dream sharing through the signets also be possible?

That's absolutely possible! Dreams can be shared with individuals accidentally, or to the group as a general concept.

Yes, this is doable. They're essentially magical amplifiers on their own and without an Elto conduit, though of course this would take getting used to the powerful magic and learning how to utilize it to make this possible.

No problem! Hopefully these answers are helpful:

1. Essentially wherever they can find room -- whether they can make space with one of the older coven members that will let them use their cabin, or just roughing it with their wits. However, the default location will for now be the mansion, lounging wherever they can find room.

2. Not at the moment. Some characters have helped to make the bathhouse not-gross anymore, though it's certainly not in pristine condition.

3. These were given to all characters introduced in October, yes!

hello! jade's player and i wanted to check in on types of plants and flora around? specifically things that they can forage for healing properties and also things like root vegetables etc that could be planted and harvested later. we didn't want to assume things but we'd be happy to roll with whatever!

A lot of the vegetation you can commonly find is similar to what you'd find on typical Earth -- for instance, you can probably find all of these herbs around on the island.

Root vegetables are a little higher to come by unless you're combing over the entire island specifically for rooted vegetables. Some plants will have large roots that are good for crunching and maybe some emergency water storage, but they aren't nearly as prevalent.
