BARRIER QUEST 2.0 update!

Hello again, Spellbind! I wanted to provide an update to the barrier removal quest I mentioned in my last post--tomorrow, IC Day 50, Jay will be organizing a large party (some 20+ people) to head up to the island above Aiminitas and try to take down the barrier! They won't succeed, but it'll be a chance for people who don't have flying powers to get up to the island, take stock of what's there, etc.

If you signed up, assume you're going--I believe the numbers should work out. Here's a rundown of what will happen:
- Characters will be heading up to the island by dragon + alchemy submarine, with Moon, Mikleo, and Xion providing air via water manipulation.
- They will emerge onto the island. The unbarriered portion of the island is sandy/grassy and dotted with miscellaneous objects/debris (one may notice a resemblance to the sort of things that might rain down during the Palai's Days of Blessing)--most of the island, however, is surrounded by a cube-shaped magical-looking barrier that lures in and zaps people who get too close.
- They will attempt to take down/pass through the barrier several ways (using characters with barrier powers; using electricity resistance or intangibility powers; just attacking the barrier) but will not be able to breach the cube for Plot Reasons.
- More specifically, characters who try to bypass the electricity by making themselves intangible will find that "instead there will be a white sort of spacey mirage in its place. This is to symbolize the absence of electricity, but the barrier is still present and it will be physically impossible to push through it. The electricity will be gone but there will still be a sort of magical surge present that is physically limiting and impervious to magic and physical maneuvering."
- Attacks will also either be absorbed (primarily magical attacks, though this is up to player discretion) or reflected (primarily physical attacks) by the barrier.
- Eventually, the characters will make their way back down to Aiminitas!

You can find more detail here, if you need it. I am planning on posting a general log tomorrow for people to thread out island shenanigans! However, I am in hurricane-adjacent territory and may lose power, so anyone should feel free to post a general log Saturday night if one isn't up by then (and post your own logs and network posts whether or not I'm around, of course.)

Feel free to use this post to tell us anything specific your character did/plot out shenanigans with other people!
