WORLD ONE: AIMINTAS

You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over... One point of implant is a sandy beach, next to an ocean shore. This may not be that abnormal to you, but there is a point of interest -- there is a huge, pulsating cube that lies inland, covering most of the island. There's about a mile stretch of land surrounding the cube's sides that is forested and sandy, but that's it. There is the ocean, though the tide is very choppy. Characters may be able to swim across...or can they?
B ▢ Some other characters may be checking out the island, so there's a chance your characters aren't alone on this mysterious island! If you ask them where you are, your character can take a magical journey to their real destination. Hope they aren't afraid of water travel. |

The more fortunate potential coven members -- or those who made it from the island to Aimintas -- are located in the marketplace. There they'll be introduced to the Palai, their strange cultures and attitudes, as well as renewed excitement at the new members. There's getting to be so many coven members that they won't immediately recognize new additions from the old guard, but they're hospitable creatures anyway.
The newer development, though, is that the older Palai are also trying to get in on practicing using weaponry. Because they aren't totally sure who are new coven members and who has been here for a while, a Palai might challenge you to a duel. Will you take this as a threat, or the friendly scrimmage that it's intended to be? D ▢ The Eltos are being utilized more and more for technological advancements, and while the Palai have failed at flying machines, they are trying to work on other, newer forms of transportation. They're still in the early stages of development, and they're looking to create transportation modes outside of the objects young Elto magic in an effort to have fun and play. However, this requires some experimentation. Characters may find that certain items they touch immediately become motile, from pens that lunge forward and propel their holder through the air, to rugs that become magic carpets once they're stepped on. To everyone else: watch out! E ▢ Despite the recent death of some Palai, the Palai "mating season" is beginning soon -- while their mating season syncs up with their past life as wild creatures, this is more so like a two week long Valentine's Day for their species. Palai are very much invested in family and relationships, and they haven't let go of pushing this belief onto coven members. While their ideal family unit is three beings, they're willing to take baby steps. Your character has suddenly been grabbed and sat next to another character and the questions begin. The Palai matchmaker begins with this one: "What do you look for in an ideal partner?" |

The land of Aimintas recently experienced some salty rainfall -- actually that's still going on for some reason. When will it stop? Nobody knows. Because their resources may be limited while new harvesting methods are implemented, the Palai have to limit their use of vegetables, fruits and grains as the ones currently planted may be too damaged by salt water to be used. This has caused some changes to the Aimintas marketplace, reflecting the food rationing.
G ▢ Alternatively, Palai chefs have been experimenting with a complete line of fish delicacies. From fish sandwiches to fish brownies, your character will likely be asked to try a nasty ass fish something or other. Unless they're into that kind of thing, it's going to be hard to swallow -- but the Palai hope your character likes their new foods! H ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
h is for here come the persona 5 spoilers
A sting of frustration burns in his throat and he tucks his wings closer to his body, peering up at Akira with round, black eyes. God, he feels so small and vulnerable like this and the knowledge that Akira could easily crush every bone in his 11-gram body is not sitting well with him. Akira would never do such a thing, of course, but the thought is creeping at the fringes of his mind regardless. ]
...Yes, that would be appreciated.

it stops akira dead in his tracks. at least, momentarily. talk about a ghost. or in this case, a ghostly bird? he isn't sure what to think and there's a cold chill that slides down his spine. akechi is supposed to be dead, supposed to be long gone and one of the few that the phantom thieves were unable to save. he's not supposed to be here, breathing, and transformed into a bird.
he'll shrug off the feeling of impending doom for now. he'll sort through that mess later. it's easier to play pretend and act indifferent for the time-being until he can reassess what the hell is going on. ]
A bird, huh? [ he says it passively as he leans down easily plucks the peacoat off the ground. how did he not recognize this stupid jacket right away? either way, he's going to neatly deposit it on the rock and then toss the tiny bird another poignant look. ]
I was expecting a crow.

[ He would've preferred being a crow, though. Akechi's initial feelings on newfound his power are mixed; it's definitely neat and the childish part of him has always dreamt of taking to the sky and soaring through the endless blue, but on the other hand he's entirely too small for his liking - he's small enough to be killed by a cat or other predators if he lets his guard down and doesn't pay attention to his surroundings. Crows are bigger, more durable and have adequate talons for defending themselves.
That said, he hops a few steps toward the rock but decides it'll be take less time to fly the short distance instead of relying on his legs. He flicks his tail, stretching out his wings and takes flight, making a circle around Akira for no reason other than to show off, before ducking the behind the rock. He doesn't quite nail the landing, but he does a pretty good job considering he's been doing this for less than a day. ]

[ just some witty deadpan, that's all.
akira shrugs and lets the tiny bird do as it pleases, instead remaining where he is. there's far too many questions with little to no answers. how is akechi alive? what does he remember? is he like haru, stuck in the past, or if he further along? is this really the afterlife and akira just can't remember his own death -
god, it's all giving him a headache. he tries not to let it show, instead fiddling with his bangs. he'll need to tell the others about this development, but it can wait. at least until he knows the extent of akechi's memories. ]

He grumbles something under his breath as he quickly slides his peacoat on, fastening the buttons with deft fingers and tugs the bottom of the jacket down as far as it would go. He still feels entirely too exposed without pants and underwear on, but at least nobody will see the family jewels like this. ]
Thank you, Kurusu-kun - it's appreciated. [ He says, tossing him a glance as he heads back to retrieve the rest of his clothes. ]

No problem.
[ at least, he thinks. still, his gaze sweeps over akechi once more, scrutinizing, like he's a weird puzzle in a place and not the traitor they all got to know too well. might as well cut to the chase. at least, partially. ]
What's the last thing you remember? [ calmly asked, hand adjusting his glasses. ]

We were discussing how to send the calling card to Sae-san; I was just about to head home and prepare for tomorrow when I was brought here.

he blinks, gaze flicking off to the side, hand clasping his chin. it's a perfect mirror to the usual stance the good detective takes when contemplating something. either way, this is certainly not the best news. this akechi wants him dead. this akechi has a bullet in his gun carved joker. this akechi doesn't give a shit about redemption or any of them. this akechi - stupidly - thinks he's going to beat them at their own game, that he's going to crush shido with his heel. ]
I see. [ so noncommittal. thanks, akira. an idle shrug. letting onto this discrepancy could lead to (yet another) attempted murder. yikes. ]
... Anyway, Haru and Ann are here. I haven't seen anyone else yet.

Luckily for Akira, this Akechi is blissfully unaware of any of the thoughts floating around in that protag skull of his. He directs his feet into his underwear and quickly pulls them up over his legs, before moving on to do the same with his pants. ]
I see. [ He nods, flashing Akira a small smile. Hmm, is there a reason only a few of them are here? Why not take the whole group? ] It's good to have some familiar faces around when you're whisked away to a strange, foreign land.
