WORLD ONE: AIMINTAS

You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over... One point of implant is a sandy beach, next to an ocean shore. This may not be that abnormal to you, but there is a point of interest -- there is a huge, pulsating cube that lies inland, covering most of the island. There's about a mile stretch of land surrounding the cube's sides that is forested and sandy, but that's it. There is the ocean, though the tide is very choppy. Characters may be able to swim across...or can they?
B ▢ Some other characters may be checking out the island, so there's a chance your characters aren't alone on this mysterious island! If you ask them where you are, your character can take a magical journey to their real destination. Hope they aren't afraid of water travel. |

The more fortunate potential coven members -- or those who made it from the island to Aimintas -- are located in the marketplace. There they'll be introduced to the Palai, their strange cultures and attitudes, as well as renewed excitement at the new members. There's getting to be so many coven members that they won't immediately recognize new additions from the old guard, but they're hospitable creatures anyway.
The newer development, though, is that the older Palai are also trying to get in on practicing using weaponry. Because they aren't totally sure who are new coven members and who has been here for a while, a Palai might challenge you to a duel. Will you take this as a threat, or the friendly scrimmage that it's intended to be? D ▢ The Eltos are being utilized more and more for technological advancements, and while the Palai have failed at flying machines, they are trying to work on other, newer forms of transportation. They're still in the early stages of development, and they're looking to create transportation modes outside of the objects young Elto magic in an effort to have fun and play. However, this requires some experimentation. Characters may find that certain items they touch immediately become motile, from pens that lunge forward and propel their holder through the air, to rugs that become magic carpets once they're stepped on. To everyone else: watch out! E ▢ Despite the recent death of some Palai, the Palai "mating season" is beginning soon -- while their mating season syncs up with their past life as wild creatures, this is more so like a two week long Valentine's Day for their species. Palai are very much invested in family and relationships, and they haven't let go of pushing this belief onto coven members. While their ideal family unit is three beings, they're willing to take baby steps. Your character has suddenly been grabbed and sat next to another character and the questions begin. The Palai matchmaker begins with this one: "What do you look for in an ideal partner?" |

The land of Aimintas recently experienced some salty rainfall -- actually that's still going on for some reason. When will it stop? Nobody knows. Because their resources may be limited while new harvesting methods are implemented, the Palai have to limit their use of vegetables, fruits and grains as the ones currently planted may be too damaged by salt water to be used. This has caused some changes to the Aimintas marketplace, reflecting the food rationing.
G ▢ Alternatively, Palai chefs have been experimenting with a complete line of fish delicacies. From fish sandwiches to fish brownies, your character will likely be asked to try a nasty ass fish something or other. Unless they're into that kind of thing, it's going to be hard to swallow -- but the Palai hope your character likes their new foods! H ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) ♚ Fate/Grand Order
The fuck is going on...?
[ She might be muttering, but the woman clad in black armor sounds pretty damn pissed off anyway. Standing by the shore, arms crossed over her chest, she looks as if she were about to will the seas to retreat, independently of how impossible that might be, all things considered. She wouldn't be one to be dissuaded anyway. ]
If this is a Grail War, it's probably the weirdest one ever.
C
[ A most curious scene is currently developing on a market street. Several Palai youngsters are standing at one end of it, while the mysterious (yet perhaps strangely familiar to some) figure in black armor stands in the other, wicked amusement twisting her mouth in a sharp, dangerous smile. The children don't seem to be the least intimidated though. What's more, they are taking turns to throw objects at the woman. The projectiles fly true for the most part, but rather than crashing on the woman they seemingly go up in flames and vanish in thin air a few feet before they can reach her.
This little game carries on for a little while, gathering a small crowd of curious and those just trying to pass by.
Just what is going on? And why does it feel like the worst idea ever? ]
That the best you can do? Don't make me laugh.
E
[ Jeanne isn't even remotely interested in having this conversation, but she's enough of a troll to remain on her seat and pretend to give two shits. ]
What's that? [ She turns to smirk at the poor soul that has been forced to sit next to her. ]
If you must insist, I would settle for someone who knows how to handle themselves in bed.
[ Cue her giving her partner a disappointed stare. ] I'm just not sure this is going to work if we start from there.
WILDCARD
[ Careful, she bites.
(not really, but she's not the nicest Jeanne d'Arc ever, so be warned.) ]
E
I'm not really one to insist. I've never had the time to really try out any kind of relationship—
[And being roommates with a certain tyrant majorly cramped her chances of any bedroom antics.]
—but, I do agree that it's important to make sure you're comfortable with the person at your side if things get that far. ...actually, come to think of it, I've only been kissed once, and it was for utility's sake...
no subject
[ That actually piques her interest. JAlter leans in closer towards Hakuno, personal boundaries (and surprised matchmaker) be damned. ]
You don't strike me as the kind of young girl to go around selling their lips, but what do I know? Maybe they like them all pure and doe eyed.
[ She squints then, as if trying to see past her. ]
Or maybe... you wouldn't happen to be...
no subject
[There's a flush in her cheeks, but mostly from the memory of nearly suffocating under Kiara's attentions and actually... what the technique really ended up doing.]
...well, either way, I don't have that ability here, so it probably doesn't matter. Um, what were you saying? I wouldn't happen to be...?
no subject
[ Her smile grows and grows, all the way to scary magnitudes. What would be the odds, really?
Jeanne waves her armored, black, clawed fingers just in front of Hakuno's face, close enough she could slash her nose open if she moved closer. She's not doing that though. The thought happens to cross her mind, all the same. ]
You wouldn't happen to be a magus? Wanna make a contract with me? I promise to be the strongest Servant.
no subject
[There's something about this woman; something that reminds her, sharply, of the first time she met Gilgamesh on the Far Side, like a wire pulled taut and barely brushing her throat, capable of snapping or twisting around at a moments notice. Hakuno knows that tension intimately, and her composure does not falter.]
My name is Hakuno Kishinami, and I was the Master who won the Moon Cell's Holy Grail War. I have currently agreed to act as a Master for another Servant I know here, more as as a mana source than anything. ...though, I have held contracts with two Servants at once, so I might be able to offer you the same deal. I don't know if I could offer you all the mana you might need to become the strongest under those circumstances, though.
[She leans forward, mindful of those claws, and properly bows to complete the greeting.]
no subject
[ Jeanne knows when she runs into someone that has gone through Hell or some variation thereof, what with her being the poster child of Burned In Hell and whatnot. This girl is strong, but also kind. More powerful than she gives herself credit for and certainly capable of ridiculous miracles through sheer force of will.
She hates her so much.
She wants to rip her head off. It would be so easy...
But she's also way too entertained to actually do that. Jeanne doesn't know how things would turn out for her if she were to actually go and remove that pretty head anyway. She has no Servants on her own, no dragons and no Gilles. Most importantly, she lacks a Master, much like Hakuno has pointed out. Still... ]
A Holy Grail winner, I wouldn't be able to tell if you hadn't told me. You might call me Avenger, as that is my class within the Grail's system. And why do you think I would need the likes of a Master to exert my full power? [ She pokes Hakuno's nose, softly, but also firmly enough to drive her point. Those metal gauntlets have some pretty sharp fingertips too, but Jeanne is skilled to the point of knowing exactly how hard to poke to keep it from actually hurting her.
It does take some effort, though.
The bow only makes her smile grow a bit more, but the dangerous edge has somewhat dulled. More entertained than annoyed, for now. ]
Who is this other Servant you speak of? Will you be only mind if I kill them? I promise to be quick.
[ IT'S A TOTALLY VALID QUESTION OKAY? ]
no subject
[Worse still, is that Hakuno is a girl who walked to her own death, who let herself sink to the depths of a sea of imaginary numbers eating away at her artificial Soul, for the sake of protecting humanity. She would have died like that, alone and resolute, if not for Gilgamesh interceding and dragging her off to the stars.
Hakuno blinks at the nose tap, but the offer makes her cough, a bit awkward.]
Well, I... sort of killed him myself, twice. ...that is, my Servants did, since he was our enemy those times, technically. But, all the same, I'd rather not make it a hat trick.
no subject
[ This is such a normal conversation. The matchmaker remains at a loss of words, sitting there like a weird looking piece of furniture. ]
Hm. You're a complicated one. I don't hate that as much as I hate other things. Who are these Servants anyway? Give me names.
[ Welcome to the JAlter scale, it totally makes sense. ]
So you're a dangerous little girl. I really don't want to share you, now.
no subject
[This is the part where red Bad End text could be lurking behind one misspoken word, but again, Hakuno is used to it.
The King of Heroes trained her well, in the most annoying way.]
Well, let's see... my very first Servant, the one I made it halfway through with, was a Berserker. My memories of that time are damaged though, so I can't name them, if I ever knew their true identity. after that, the War sort of... stalled due to a certain party corrupting and usurping the Grail.
[For Hakuno's sake. JAlter is not the first beautiful yandere to be intrigued by this girl by a long shot.]
At that point, my contract with Berserker ended up being dissolved, and I crossed paths with Gilgamesh, who contracted with me until I found myself here. Then I met Robin Hood again and offered to be his Master if he needed it.
no subject
[ And unburnt, but let's not give Hakuno more nightmare fuel.
Jeanne listens with unexpected attention. It's not that she cares, but rather there's always a chance to learn something that will benefit her later on. When Hakuno ends, she scoffs softly. ]
Seems like a downgrade, wouldn't you say? The King of Heroes is supposed to be a pretty big deal. Insufferable jerk, but powerful.
I could totally free you of that silly Robin Hood if wanted, though.
no subject
[Hakuno smacks her fist into her palm, remembering something out of the blue.]
I almost forgot, the temporary auxiliary contract I had at the same time Gilgamesh was my servant; it was with a Lancer. Elizabeth Bathory. ...sorry, what was I saying? ...ah.
[She tucks her hair behind her ear.]
Right. I already won the War, and I don't need to die, so... I don't specifically need the strongest Servant I can get my hands on. I guess, the easiest way to put it is I'm retired, so I don't have any grand ambitions other than to actually live to an interesting and comfortable life.
have i apologized yet? i feel like i should apologize
In the end, she puts a heavy armored hand on top of the girl's head, not quite petting her but more like nailing her to the ground with a couple of pats. ]
You are actually just a really lame person, aren't you? I guess it's something I can live with. When the time comes I'll make you my Master. Until then, you better not go sharing your mana with even more losers, you hear?
[ And what that out of the way, Jeanne motions Hakuno to walk away from the matchmaker with her. Two Palai come closer to sit them down again, but the sight of Jeanne's armor gaining a thin cover of black flames is enough to make them decide that hey, maybe love isn't for everyone. ]
I'm bored now. Take me somewhere interesting.
never apologize
[Oh, hey, everything is going better than expected.
...well, Robin probably isn't going to be thrilled about this development, but there's nothing to be done about that now.]
Oh. Um, okay... let's see, there's the place where the coven—that's us non-natives—lives, I'm not sure if you've poked around there yet. A friend of mine took me to see a farm, but I don't know if it survived the recent attack... there's a market.
[ APOLOGIZING INTENSIFIES ]
[ As you do. ]
What kind of ability? Do I have one as well? Not that I need it.
[ Jeanne starts walking as Hakuno talks, one hand on the girl's shoulder to steer her through the street. ]
Is it worth checking? I have no interest to mingle with others, but it could be entertaining.
NO YOU'RE GREAT
[As you do.]
You probably do. Mine is... this.
[One moment, Hakuno is there.
The next, there is a tiny Flying Dwarf Squirrel perched on Jeanne's hand.]
i shall continue to burden you with fate protag bs then
(no subject)
(no subject)
christ also c/wildcard?
Hm?
[but, like, this whole scene is weird. another woman has frozen to a halt just behind her and watches it quite sternly, without making a comment.]
https://i.imgur.com/Y3RESk8.jpg
[ JAlter's entire demeanor would be enough to make a grown man try and grasp for a weapon (or just run away) but children are annoying in the way they don't perceive danger the same way. So her curt reply-kinda-question doesn't get much of a change in the little ones. ]
Do you want me to burn these too? What a bother. Just throw them in a trash can yourselves.
plz be nice
[finally, jeanne speaks up. she steps forward, advancing enough to protectively stand beside the small children. it's... eerie how much this other servant carries a resemblance to her, albeit with some slight differences, but what she absolutely will not tolerate is any harm being done to the innocent palai.
the children startle, though, and look up at jeanne upon hearing her voice— wait? what? they're so obviously confused. their eyes begin darting between the two jeannes.]
Please do not do anything to the children's gifts.
this took forever sorry
You. What a surprise. Coming to the rescue, holy maiden? Spank me if I misbehave?
B
You have knowledge of Grail War?
[ By the way, guess who's just as lost as her here? Totally not this Saber here. Nope. ]
no subject
[ She turns around to scowl at him. ]
What is it to you?
no subject
Everything. [ AVALON yadda yadda MUH CAMELOT yadda yadda. ] But that aside, you are without your master as well, yes? Then perhaps as fellow servants, a truce is necessary until we find one?
[ Oh boy. ]
no subject
A Servant, then? Should we proceed to try and kill each other then? It would at least rid me of my boredom for the time being.
[ She didn't even hear the word "truce". ]
no subject
I know nothing of you and your origin, fellow Servant. But if I were you, that would not be a wise choice to take. Especially in a place that is unfamiliar to both of us.
[ This is what differentiate him from his female counterpart, tbh. Arthur's a handful more shonen than Altria. ]
