ABOUT: HELLO FRIENDS it's me again! I'm already in the game with Mikleo (

oneandmikleonly) and got up the nerve to ask Tanz about apping our dumb OCs to the game this month! We're really excited to play them here (ﾉ^ヮ^)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧

NAME: Vern
CANON: Original character from a Norse myth-based world!
INFO: We did a world and history writeup here but essentially: the world is super violent and full of war because humans wants to make it into Valhalla by dying in battle, magic users have a tough time because they don't fit neatly into the world system, Vern's family (mostly magic users) dies because of this, Vern goes off the deep end a little and tries to summon the World-Serpent Jormungand to start Ragnarok and end the whole mess . . . and instead they decide to tentatively try living and experiencing the world together, which turns out way more complicated than kickstarting world destruction could ever have been.
MAGIC: HE CAN SENSE YOUR FEEEEEEELINGS if you get within ten feet of him (the closer you are within that range, the more nuance he'll pick up)! The idea with this was to have him have a perpetual reminder that hey, other people are around him but not necessarily always out to get him the way he's trained himself to think they are.
CR REQUESTS: Anything! Everything! People who will have some patience and understanding for a kind of snappy initially hostile loser who will have no idea what to do with his power would be a blessing. He will also get along a little better and warm up faster to people who are to the point and sensible and willing to explain things to him. I would ideally like to get him out of his shell some so he doesn't just perpetually hide in a fort made of his giant snake partner (

rootandbranch)'s coils the entire game.

I mean she can try her best with the explaining and being patient thing? She's still pretty new to this too.

ON MAN -- Vern spends a lot of time trying to explain the 95% of stuff in the world that Geir doesn't understand to Geir too as they run into it (it doesn't always go well, and it's not going to go well at Spellbind start since they'll both have no clue what's going on, but he tries). It might actually be easier for him to lighten up around someone who is patient with his hissing but . . . also registers as confused the same way Geir does sometimes since it's a more familiar paradigm?? I would be super down for this.

For all her faults, Rotty IS very friendly and is quite up front about being a tricky, manipulative such-and-such.

Plus there's, y'know, the dragon thing making even socially withdrawn boys interesting to cute ~~zombie~~ girls.

He might get puffy at her (largely if she tries to get Geir to do something weird) but this seems fun! Maybe they could three-way thread a hilarious exploration log sometime the next time that sort of thing comes up in the game too.

i would love to throw jeanne at him! she does well with comforting people that need it and helping them calm down, in a sensible way that isn't condescending... at the very least, she could give him some pointers to deal with his power!

I would love to thread with her! She definitely reads as someone he'd get along with reasonably well (after his default initial hedgehog impression is over with, I'm so sorry). It'll help that they'll be coming in at the same time, like, he's prickly but not so far gone that he can't appreciate someone who's just as ??? about the situation as he is taking the time to try and help others.

no, she doesn't really know the answer to that question, but it's probably something about adding fulfillment to life or something. and, great!! c: she's been in a lot of situations that straight up Suck and had to make the most of it. time 2 pass that knowledge on

So Hakuno has saved the Earth like, technically two times and is very patient with snappy, edgy people, historically. She's usually pretty straightforward and sensible, but if he examines her feelings he might notice she's pretty much primed to react to somebody suddenly kickflipping in out of nowhere to make an attempt on her life. It's kind of a habit.

HONESTLY ONE OF MY HOPES IS THAT HE GETS TO LIKE SOME OF THE FATE/ CAST ENOUGH TO BE LIKE

Hakuno should tell him about the time she had t repeatedly go into Death Labyrinths to find information and loot, that might tip the scales.
