Well, they're edible in the sense that you can eat them. Characters may want to grab them pretty quickly, though, since they are dead fish that will decay and begin to smell foul pretty quickly. They aren't, however, poisoned. Nothing abnormal has been done to them, other than their heads have been ripped off.
