He's already the incarnation of pride in his world, and is egotistical to boot. He could stand to share some of his confidence, and has actually played the part of a motivational figure before [It was because he wanted to eat sins but we don't have to go that far.]

Finding out the second part is more like, good development/loud screaming down the line I think

The second part about Val? Yeah I haven't figured out when to spring that on people. He's already sort of blown his cover in the March TDM by talking to a sinner he knew hundreds of years ago, but nothing direct to the Coven yet...
