WORLD ONE: AIMINTAS

You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over... Some of you might open your eyes to find yourself wandering around a sandy area, outside of a large stone house. There's a large glimmering caravan floating around outside, which might intrigue you. There's also a lot of supplies, food, clothing...all just laying around outside. It's worth investigating, right?
- A1: Once your character touches the caravan, they can't remove their appendage from it. Kick it? Their foot is stuck. Touch it? Their hand is stuck. Lick it? Their tongue is stuck. They'll remain like this for 15 minutes without magical intervention. - A2: Your character's hand doesn't stay for long, but the caravan holds onto that hand for five seconds while giving your character a pretty excruciating burn. Medic! B ▢ Maybe they're smart and they don't touch the caravan. Let's go through all of this cool stuff on the ground! It might be sort of obvious that it belongs to someone -- a lot of someone's -- but your character is thirsty, confused...maybe there's some water or answers in this pile. And maybe there's also someone who catches your character going through their shit. |

Other new potential coven members will find themselves in a completely different part of town. These lucky individuals will have suddenly appeared in the marketplace area of Aimintas, surrounded by walking lizard beings that suddenly turn and take an immediate interest in this stranger.
On the other hand, you might learn something interesting talking to them. A friend might join in either way! D ▢ Once you break free of the Palai, you'll find that this marketplace is pretty interesting. It's a mixture of primitive and semi-modern technology...or is it totally unfamiliar to you? Never seen a cellphone before? Unfamiliar with the concept of women wearing pants? There's certainly something to see that'll interest your character here. E ▢ Finally, you might be hungry and thirsty after suddenly appearing. The Palai are masters of making food, including a new concoction of theirs that they're trying out in honor of all the new people. It's a sort of bottled fruit juice that has been energized by the Eltos. It's essentially the first Aimintas Red Bull, except on acid. The drink immediately makes anyone who drinks it extremely giddy, hyper and they may potentially hallucinate. It doesn't seem to bother the Palai's biology, but everyone else...oops! |

The setting found in Aimintas is pretty expansive, so you have a lot of room to wander around. Here are a few things that might catch your eye if you're really committed to wandering around.
G ▢ The Palai have constructed a large library in the middle of town. If you wander in here, you'll find a myriad of books in a strange language. The Palai are a rather visual people, though, so many include pictures and illustrations. They also have a collection of computers here that connect to the Aimintas internet, as well as visual media stations that can play videos -- though they're really just powered tablets that play video files. Time to get a little taste of the Palai culture. H ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |

[A soft, warm wind gently lifted the long locks of a girl staring up at the sky. The situation was weirdly poetic. Long ago she once sat on a dock staring at the ocean. She made a solemn prayer that day, a wish for those that would come after. Since reawakening Labrys had always been reminded of that moment on a quiet beach, one lone dog standing beside her.]
[The fact that there was yet one more beach before her in the sky, whispering its quiet but unmistakable roar, was telling in more ways than one. There was comfort, yes, but also alarm. Where was she? What was going on? And what kind of force would be powerful enough to defy the laws of nature. She wanted to ask these questions, but a stronger part of her just wanted to take in the scene. A quiet moment here and now, a reminder of home and how everything was terribly, terribly wrong.]
A1 -- Now I'm Stuck On...
[Of course after a reverie the most expedient thing to do is to find where they were, and the first thing that she saw was the barrier. Or, rather, her sensors saw it. Well, these weren't the first barriers shes faced, she'll be more than happy to break through them! Its easy as...]
[...uh...]
[Her fist was stuck in the wall. Well, no matter. She'll just grab a hold and. No, wait. That won't work. Well, what if she used one of her feet as leverage and...]
[...uh oh...]
Hey!! What's the big idea, huh!? You wanna make a fool outta me... ...well, its workin', all right? Now let's cut the funny business and get me the heck outta here!!
HEY!!! I know you're out there! Don't make me come get you!!
...
S-somebody help? Please??
F -- Labrys and the Lizards of
OzAimintas[Though some quick maneuvering and some very close calls, Labrys was able to pull herself past the stares and inquiries from the locals. Huffing out of alarm than actual fatigue, her attention was drawn on a pair of eyes. And scales. And... oh, there are little ones.]
--oh hello there! Who are you?
[The lizard girl, who identified herself as Fink, took quite the interest in Labrys. Soon her brother, Zooby, popped out and the two dragged her to play and laughed when she explained that she didn't know how. Laughing at her ignorance, Zooby and Fink taught Labrys how to climb up platforms, how to play tag with their tongues, and all manner of games.]
[They'd be open to one more if anyone happened to come by!]

... You have a knack for that. [ akira eventually says towards labrys, mostly in regards to the little palai children. some people just got "kids." he was ... sometimes one of them. it really depended. ]

[Fink and Zooby were just in the process of teaching Labrys hide and seek (with chameleon camouflage!), when the boy spoke up. She stopped, tilting her head just so in his direction.]
[Like Akira, Labrys was trying to get a read on this guy, but she still wasn't sure. So, nothing more to it than to see more of what he was like!]
Yeah? The little ones were teachin' me all about, what was it again?
Hiders n' seekers!
Yeah that! From what I can tell, these are a type of game that the little palai children do in order to increase their hunting skills which will hunt hunt down food or to defeat a competing shopper in limited supply super saver sale.
'n knowin' that, its pretty easy to help 'em learn!
[She's so proud.]
A
No, what shakes her out of her reverie is the telltale snap of a fairly old seeming camera, the slight flapflap of Aya's wings as she examines her work and then raises it back to her eyeline, tilts it slightly, and... snaps another picture.
It's only when she seems satisfied with that that she hops a little closer to her subject, holds her hand out.]
I have to say, that was a really scenic shot. Would you mind if I get a statement from the subject? I could use it in a fluff piece, something like 'the views of a new world.'
[Reslinging her camera around her neck, she fishes out a pen and her notebook, twirls the pen in her hand as she prepares to write.]
Name? Full. And age, if possible.
no subject
[The snap immediately gets her attention. Not sure what to make of it, her first instinct is to look around. Its only when she saw the girl with the --wings? Huh. Ain't that beat all.]
Well, um...
[Labrys eyes blinked a bit, not entirely sure what to say. She stumbles a bit as she thinks of what to say.]
Ah--um... well... its uh, clear we ain't where we came from, that's for sure.
[Then a thought occurred.]
Wait! Unless you do know where you came from? You ain't from around here are yahs? Where are we?
