WORLD ONE: AIMINTAS

You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over... Some of you might open your eyes to find yourself wandering around a sandy area, outside of a large stone house. There's a large glimmering caravan floating around outside, which might intrigue you. There's also a lot of supplies, food, clothing...all just laying around outside. It's worth investigating, right?
- A1: Once your character touches the caravan, they can't remove their appendage from it. Kick it? Their foot is stuck. Touch it? Their hand is stuck. Lick it? Their tongue is stuck. They'll remain like this for 15 minutes without magical intervention. - A2: Your character's hand doesn't stay for long, but the caravan holds onto that hand for five seconds while giving your character a pretty excruciating burn. Medic! B ▢ Maybe they're smart and they don't touch the caravan. Let's go through all of this cool stuff on the ground! It might be sort of obvious that it belongs to someone -- a lot of someone's -- but your character is thirsty, confused...maybe there's some water or answers in this pile. And maybe there's also someone who catches your character going through their shit. |

Other new potential coven members will find themselves in a completely different part of town. These lucky individuals will have suddenly appeared in the marketplace area of Aimintas, surrounded by walking lizard beings that suddenly turn and take an immediate interest in this stranger.
On the other hand, you might learn something interesting talking to them. A friend might join in either way! D ▢ Once you break free of the Palai, you'll find that this marketplace is pretty interesting. It's a mixture of primitive and semi-modern technology...or is it totally unfamiliar to you? Never seen a cellphone before? Unfamiliar with the concept of women wearing pants? There's certainly something to see that'll interest your character here. E ▢ Finally, you might be hungry and thirsty after suddenly appearing. The Palai are masters of making food, including a new concoction of theirs that they're trying out in honor of all the new people. It's a sort of bottled fruit juice that has been energized by the Eltos. It's essentially the first Aimintas Red Bull, except on acid. The drink immediately makes anyone who drinks it extremely giddy, hyper and they may potentially hallucinate. It doesn't seem to bother the Palai's biology, but everyone else...oops! |

The setting found in Aimintas is pretty expansive, so you have a lot of room to wander around. Here are a few things that might catch your eye if you're really committed to wandering around.
G ▢ The Palai have constructed a large library in the middle of town. If you wander in here, you'll find a myriad of books in a strange language. The Palai are a rather visual people, though, so many include pictures and illustrations. They also have a collection of computers here that connect to the Aimintas internet, as well as visual media stations that can play videos -- though they're really just powered tablets that play video files. Time to get a little taste of the Palai culture. H ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |

[ One second, Poe's elbow-deep in the guts of Black One on a misty morning at D'Qar. The next, he's baking in humid air and sunshine. He squints upward, not believing his eyes for a second at the sight of the ocean and its creatures overhead. It's amazing. But it doesn't explain how he got here. It feels too real for him to have gotten knocked out somehow. The heat is very real, and he's still got machine grease smearing his arms and hands.
The sight of the food, the clothes, the detritus scattered around makes the hair on the back of his neck prickle. It's like a whole group of people just evaporated and left their belongings behind. ] Well. That's probably bad.
[ He skirts the stuff, focus on the floating caravan. At least this is semi-familiar, though there's no apparent displacement underneath the caravan to show how it's keeping aloft. It's interesting. Interesting enough for Poe to want to poke it.
He presses one dirty hand to its side, feeling for the hum of machinery, and then tries to slide his hand along the caravan's length.
Except he can't. He's stuck. He yanks, yanks again, idiotically braces his shoulder against the caravan and tries to wrench free by pushing off--
Except now he's stuck, by shoulder and by hand. He tilts his head back and groans, though there doesn't appear to be anyone but the distant fish to hear him. ] Great job, Dameron.
F.
[ Poe is covered in baby lizard people and couldn't be happier about it.
They tug at his hair, his uniform, ask a dozen questions at once, and he tries to answer them in order, grinning all the while.
He's just. Standing next to the house. Arms spread. Letting himself be climbed. Because baby lizard people. ]
a'ight I'm taking that CRAU idea and *running to the hills with it* // A1
It's been a strange lifetime.
Cassian approaches the caravan and it's familiar...not occupant, not really, and it takes him a moment to realize that Poe is in some kind of trouble.
Possibly the most familiar thing he's seen thus far. ]
What did you do?
[ Not: where are we? ]
no subject
I made a friend. A very clingy friend.
no subject
Otherwise, are you all right?
[ No pains or burning or anything else like that, right? Cassian would just pry Poe out of his clothes but that doesn't solve the problem of his hand being stuck to the ship's surface. ]
no subject
Otherwise I'm spiffy. [ It's one of those words he picked up in Wayward Pines, initially meaningless if charming. He says it now with an edge of sarcasm.
Because he's stuck, Cass. This is unpleasant and his leg is bent weird. ]
no subject
[ His tone implies an eyeroll, but he's glad that Poe isn't actively suffering, at the very least.
So. Cassian circles around Poe again before getting in close - really close - and wrapping his arms around Poe's waist while widening his stance. ]
Ready?
[ He doesn't give Poe much of a chance to answer before he throws all of his weight in the opposite direction of the ship Poe is stuck to.
Surprisingly, it works. Unsurprisingly, then end up in a tangled heap on the ground. ]
no subject
Maybe if I'd actually been ready I wouldn't be on top of you right now.
[ He could, y'know, move. But that wouldn't have the same impact. ]
no subject
Maybe. No guarantees.
[ He does manage to stand, and offer Poe a hand up. ]
No touching the weird tech. Any idea where the hell we are?
tweaks some facts from the opener bc crau
None. One minute I was working on my mom's ship, next minute... [ An expansive gesture at their surroundings. He glances at the stuff on the ground again, then quickly away, looking up at the ocean instead.
A thought, and he's scanning the horizon. ] Where's Jyn?
[ Because they move as a unit now. And if he and Cassian are both here, Jyn had better be, or someone's going to answer for it. ]
\o/
I don't know.
[ He flexes his fingers and glances back at the building. ]
Hopefully she shows up soon.
[ Because he's already experienced the unique hell of being trapped on a strange planet with limited information on how he got there without her, he doesn't need a refresher course. ]
f.
I should have known I could find you here.
[ instead of a flotilla of palai surrounding her, jyn just has one with its arms wrapped around her leg and its cheek pressed to her thigh. she hasn't decided if this one is hiding from its more boisterous siblings and cousins, but he seems content enough to cling to her away from the hubbub. ]
