WORLD ONE: AIMINTAS

You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over... Some of you might open your eyes to find yourself wandering around a sandy area, outside of a large stone house. There's a large glimmering caravan floating around outside, which might intrigue you. There's also a lot of supplies, food, clothing...all just laying around outside. It's worth investigating, right?
- A1: Once your character touches the caravan, they can't remove their appendage from it. Kick it? Their foot is stuck. Touch it? Their hand is stuck. Lick it? Their tongue is stuck. They'll remain like this for 15 minutes without magical intervention. - A2: Your character's hand doesn't stay for long, but the caravan holds onto that hand for five seconds while giving your character a pretty excruciating burn. Medic! B ▢ Maybe they're smart and they don't touch the caravan. Let's go through all of this cool stuff on the ground! It might be sort of obvious that it belongs to someone -- a lot of someone's -- but your character is thirsty, confused...maybe there's some water or answers in this pile. And maybe there's also someone who catches your character going through their shit. |

Other new potential coven members will find themselves in a completely different part of town. These lucky individuals will have suddenly appeared in the marketplace area of Aimintas, surrounded by walking lizard beings that suddenly turn and take an immediate interest in this stranger.
On the other hand, you might learn something interesting talking to them. A friend might join in either way! D ▢ Once you break free of the Palai, you'll find that this marketplace is pretty interesting. It's a mixture of primitive and semi-modern technology...or is it totally unfamiliar to you? Never seen a cellphone before? Unfamiliar with the concept of women wearing pants? There's certainly something to see that'll interest your character here. E ▢ Finally, you might be hungry and thirsty after suddenly appearing. The Palai are masters of making food, including a new concoction of theirs that they're trying out in honor of all the new people. It's a sort of bottled fruit juice that has been energized by the Eltos. It's essentially the first Aimintas Red Bull, except on acid. The drink immediately makes anyone who drinks it extremely giddy, hyper and they may potentially hallucinate. It doesn't seem to bother the Palai's biology, but everyone else...oops! |

The setting found in Aimintas is pretty expansive, so you have a lot of room to wander around. Here are a few things that might catch your eye if you're really committed to wandering around.
G ▢ The Palai have constructed a large library in the middle of town. If you wander in here, you'll find a myriad of books in a strange language. The Palai are a rather visual people, though, so many include pictures and illustrations. They also have a collection of computers here that connect to the Aimintas internet, as well as visual media stations that can play videos -- though they're really just powered tablets that play video files. Time to get a little taste of the Palai culture. H ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
jumin han | mystic messenger
[ Ah, attention. It's nothing alien to the sharply-dressed Jumin but he was hoping to get some time alone to look into, well, everything himself. There's no one to trust in a strange foreign land, and he rather likes the freedom this sudden independence has granted him. No media, no bodyguards. Just a lot of overly friendly amphibians that he wants to get away from.
Okay, maybe this isn't freedom. Their questions pique his interest... ]
I have read a book on black magic, yes, but I can assure you I don't actively dabble in the arcane arts. So I don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about.
[ ...but this is getting him nowhere. Among the crowd, he spots a face that might help him. ]
You. [ He cuts through the crowd, effectively escaping the Palai he was talking to. ] You're a member of this "coven", aren't you?
G
[ An avid reader, the language barrier presents him with a high hurdle to overcome. Fortunately, he's found simple books that teach Palasse. He's at "This is Dick, see Dick run" levels, but hey. Baby steps.
Soon, he comes across a realization that, as he adds words to his vocabulary, grows impossible to ignore. He murmurs his thoughts aloud as he begins flipping through large fonts and illustrations for a sign. ]
This book has no cats.
H
[ Hit me up! ]
g;
Why are you even looking for cats in the first place?
no subject
[ Please. ]
In any case, how languages are taught speak volumes about the land they come from. I wasn't sure if it was unusual, but you noticed it too, didn't you? There are almost no animals in Aimintas.
no subject
[ pulls out another book - some sort of encyclopedia marked D-F in this world's unique language, and opens to a random page. ]
No dogs too.
no subject
[ He considers what Katsuhira says for a moment. ]
I can't stay here. The mere idea of a world with no cats offends me.
[ Okay, maybe he was half-listening. ]
But as far as I'm aware, there's no other way to leave this world at the moment... It's an extremely unfortunate predicament.
(no subject)
(no subject)
G... the things i do for you
But Jumin is obviously not fine about the lack of cats. Hm. ]
Actually, I noticed there are hardly any animals in the city... [ It's a little strange, really. ] Do you miss Elizabeth 3rd?
WAHAHAHAHA
So he closes his eyes and solemnly declares, ] I miss her dearly.
[ Does V even have to ask? ]
She must be hungry and scared... [ He sighs. ] and so alone. My greatest fear is how she must hate me when I return.
[ No, it's Elizabeth dying from hunger, but he doesn't even want to think about that. Positive thinking is the only way he'll ever get over this. ]
C
Yes! Maybe! I think so?
no subject
Pick one.
[ His tone is stern. Commanding. The folded arms and narrow gaze probably aren't helping. He's not usually so impatient, but she's testing him. ]

Red hair is nothing peculiar, however Seven may or may not have lied about saying how his hair was red with the blood of the enemies that he's slain with his great magical abilities. Or something like that. The details are very hazy and none of it matters when he sees Jumin. ]
Oh! Sure, sure, of course I am.
[ Seven turns to look at Jumin with his trademarked cat-like smile. Please pay no mind to how he's holding one of the lizard people as he would hold Elizabeth the 3rd. ]
Isn't that obvious?
[ Are you sure you really want to be talking to him, Jumin? Is this the best option? ]
>:3c!!
Red hair, amber eyes, complexion so pallid that you might as well be a supernatural entity of your choosing. Yes, it's no wonder you are.
[There's an insult in there somewhere.]
But it's amazing how you can admit that so easily, Luciel. I thought witchcraft was the work of the devil? [Not that Jumin's religious. He just thought Seven was.]
no subject
[ He'll bashfully use the lizard person to hide behind and flutter his lashes at Jumin for a moment while sounding as scandalized as possible as well. Apparently, the lizard person finds this whole exchange entertaining and makes an approving noise despite being manhandled. ]
You know, I'm not sure if I could handle someone like you. I love my freedom too much.
[ If there's something to be read between the lines there then there is. Seven's certainly not going to deny it. Fair's fair, right? But he pauses for a moment to consider Jumin's words. He's not wrong, Seven is religious but— ]
You're right, it is, but—! It's important to also be tolerant and understanding. Love! Love is most important of all!
[ You sure went down this path. ]

Maybe they're in a different book?
no subject
And goes back to his book.
Then stares at the raccoon again. ]
... Perhaps they are.
[ Okay, now replying to young woodland creatures just makes him feel silly. Who's in charge of this coven? He eyes the book fort Pochi's constructed, wondering how long it's been working on it. Why is it even here? ]
Productive, aren't we?

C touches ur face
It's kind of a relief to hear and see someone call him who doesn't have fins, even if it's someone he hasn't seen before and who looks about as beleaguered as he is; you can't get two steps through this city without tripping over a curious coven fan, it seems. This is more tiring than actually just training all day.
Anyway.]
Yes. You are too, since you're human, I think.
[Probably human? See: no fins. But then, he's just arrived so who knows, if Jumin suddenly grew a tail he would honestly just deadeye at this point.]
also touches
Then it hits him.]
Some people have mistaken me for a robot.
[Jumin, no.]
Don't worry. I can assure you I know at least one person more robotic than I. [sorry jaehee]
:*
[There are robots here?! They haven't quite hit the point of advanced A.I. where he comes from, having veered off the rails onto the route of bioweapons, but that's neither here nor there -- Jumin's suggestion is totally out of left field and Lenka ends up just staring at him for a moment.
And then gives him a critical look.
And okay honestly, he's a lineface, he's not the best person to go to for an evaluation on how robotic you are. The pot calling the kettle black, except quite literally, because talking appliances. I've lost control of this narration. The point is, he wouldn't be surprised if he were suddenly working with robots either. Not that much, anyway.]
I mean, it's okay if you're a robot. [taking things literally....] We don't have just humans. Just not, uh.
[He waves at whatever the Palai are. He hasn't seen someone amphibian on their side so far...?!]

I -- yes, I am.
[ He suppose that's what happened to him? Hes trying to understand this whole coven business. ]
no subject
[He turns around and walks past the crowds of Palai, expecting the young man to follow. Jumin has neither the time nor patience for interruptions, so he searches for a quieter corner in town.
It's proving difficult.]
How long have you been here?
no subject
Not very long. I'm...still trying to understand this 'coven' thing.
(no subject)
(no subject)
here's your real daughter
She looks shocked to be approached so abruptly by this, admittedly handsome, man. That's not what makes her take a half step back, though. It's not her fault she's more on edge than usual. It's not his fault, either. Unless he's the reason she's been dragged to the town of Aimintas. ]
Huh?
[ Why is everyone saying she's a Coven member?! Is it a new popular guild she hasn't heard of? After getting stuck to a caravan and burned; being scolded for going through someone's things on the ground (In SAO, players kept their loot in their inventory! She doesn't want to acknowledge that she had been in SAO for so long that belongings on the ground was weird to her now.); attempting to pull her sword out on the Palai because she thought they were an enemy she had to fight; finding out she doesn't have her sword...
It's no wonder she's not the best of moods.
The only thing that seems to have lifted her spirits a little is the small cell phone in her hands. It's been so long since she has seen you, Cell-sama.
This time, it's time to set the record straight. ]
No, I am not. I'm a member, the Vice Commander of the The Knights of the Blood Oath. [ You know... one of the front line, floor-clearing guilds? Gosh. ]
yes good
Given her disposition and their predicament, he realizes there's no point in questioning her claim.]
Then who brought you here? Your king?
[I was kidding. He's mean.]
no subject
Look at those hazel eyes flash. It might be a joke, someone else might just go along with it and say "No, it was the Queen," but not Asuna. What really bothers her is she doesn't have an answer to his question. That's what's been bothering her the most.
She has no idea how she got here. Her entire inventory is missing and, as if not having a Log Out button wasn't bad enough, she has no menu at all. ]
This is no time for jokes. I could ask you the same question.
[ Her mouth opens to do that, but no words leave her. Nope, now she's giving him a strange look before pointing a bit weakly at his sharp attire. ]
Who... made that?
[ Since when could any tailors in SAO make business suits? ]
