WORLD ONE: AIMINTAS

You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over... Some of you might open your eyes to find yourself wandering around a sandy area, outside of a large stone house. There's a large glimmering caravan floating around outside, which might intrigue you. There's also a lot of supplies, food, clothing...all just laying around outside. It's worth investigating, right?
- A1: Once your character touches the caravan, they can't remove their appendage from it. Kick it? Their foot is stuck. Touch it? Their hand is stuck. Lick it? Their tongue is stuck. They'll remain like this for 15 minutes without magical intervention. - A2: Your character's hand doesn't stay for long, but the caravan holds onto that hand for five seconds while giving your character a pretty excruciating burn. Medic! B ▢ Maybe they're smart and they don't touch the caravan. Let's go through all of this cool stuff on the ground! It might be sort of obvious that it belongs to someone -- a lot of someone's -- but your character is thirsty, confused...maybe there's some water or answers in this pile. And maybe there's also someone who catches your character going through their shit. |

Other new potential coven members will find themselves in a completely different part of town. These lucky individuals will have suddenly appeared in the marketplace area of Aimintas, surrounded by walking lizard beings that suddenly turn and take an immediate interest in this stranger.
On the other hand, you might learn something interesting talking to them. A friend might join in either way! D ▢ Once you break free of the Palai, you'll find that this marketplace is pretty interesting. It's a mixture of primitive and semi-modern technology...or is it totally unfamiliar to you? Never seen a cellphone before? Unfamiliar with the concept of women wearing pants? There's certainly something to see that'll interest your character here. E ▢ Finally, you might be hungry and thirsty after suddenly appearing. The Palai are masters of making food, including a new concoction of theirs that they're trying out in honor of all the new people. It's a sort of bottled fruit juice that has been energized by the Eltos. It's essentially the first Aimintas Red Bull, except on acid. The drink immediately makes anyone who drinks it extremely giddy, hyper and they may potentially hallucinate. It doesn't seem to bother the Palai's biology, but everyone else...oops! |

The setting found in Aimintas is pretty expansive, so you have a lot of room to wander around. Here are a few things that might catch your eye if you're really committed to wandering around.
G ▢ The Palai have constructed a large library in the middle of town. If you wander in here, you'll find a myriad of books in a strange language. The Palai are a rather visual people, though, so many include pictures and illustrations. They also have a collection of computers here that connect to the Aimintas internet, as well as visual media stations that can play videos -- though they're really just powered tablets that play video files. Time to get a little taste of the Palai culture. H ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
Roxas | Kingdom Hearts
[ This isn't the first time Roxas has woken up to see nothing but ocean. Once he sits up and finds he's on sand, though, and not on some kind of mysterious ethereal platform, he relaxes a little. The poor guy's not really in the mood for another one of those experiences so quickly. The ocean above him is new, though, even for someone who's traveled the worlds.
He's still tense, wandering around the area cautiously and trying to get his bearings, and occasionally picking up some seashells for a reason even he can't remember. If you catch him between destinations, he'll probably ignore you unless approached, or unless he recognizes you. If you catch him by surprise, though-- Well, he's got a couple of Keyblades in his hands and he'll immediately take a defensive position.
He's not a happy camper. ]
[ D- Market ]
[ The bustling marketplace reminds him of Agrabah, but the technology is something else. He's never seen so many unfamiliar devices-- Even computers were rare in Twilight Town, and the Organization tended to use more... original technology.
He's mostly fascinated, however, by an ice cream stall. He rummages through his pockets and sighs as he comes up empty, before turning to the nearest person-- ]
Hey, do you have any Munny I can borrow for an ice cream? I'll make it up to you.
[ There's a fierce determination in his eyes. He needs this ice cream. ]
H
When the keyblades come out, she reacts by fainting immediately. ]
oh my god
The Keyblades vanish almost as fast as they appeared, and Roxas kind of awkwardly scoots to the girl's side. ... And then he just kind of stares at her. What exactly is he supposed to do in this situation??
He settles on just kind of... lightly tapping her on the forehead. Seriously, he never learned first aid or even a vague semblance of it, and he's pretty sure Cure only works on people who are actually wounded. ]
Hey, are... you okay? I'm not-- I won't hurt you if you wake up! Promise!
don't judge her defense mechanism
I'm sorry for sneaking up on you! I didn't mean anything bad by it!

D.
[kotori's tone of voice made it obvious she'd never heard of such a thing in her life before. but this guy looked so passionate -- over ice cream of all things -- it made her want to give him a hand. after all, she knew a couple light-haired food lovers.
kotori stuck her hand in her skirt pocket for a moment, then produced a 1000 yen bill.]
Um, I have a 1000 yen, if that would work?
no subject
He leans in a little and examines it. Paper... munny? Not green orbs? ]
Sorry, is... this what they trade for the ice cream? I'm not from around here.
no subject
[she pushed the bill forward into roxas' hands with a smile.]
... Honestly, this amount would probably get us a lot of ice cream. But if you're willing to share with me, I don't mind giving it to you.

d
Ice cream? Where?
no subject
He recovers from his ice cream malaise quickly and points at the stall, though. It might not exactly be ice cream, but it's definitely the Palai equivalent- some kind of frozen treat. ]
I don't think they just want us to take it, but I honestly didn't ask. Seems a little... rude to just be all "hey, can I swipe your ice cream" to a lizard you haven't even met, right?
no subject
She looks back at him.]
Let's trade.
[She jabs her thumb at herself.]
I'll get it. You help me.

Well now. Isn't that the million dollar question... ]
Finding anything good over there?
[ Axel's tone is just as smug and aloof as ever, always the perfect cover for whatever's going on in his head. And, at the moment? That's a lot.
Rather than approach from behind then, he stays put, several strides back from Roxas, and waits for him to turn. When he does, he'll see a figure clad in a long black hooded cloak, (is it a familiar one? Who knows), weight leaned lazily onto one hip, arms folded. ]

Roxas whips around, his eyes flashing with recognition, but filled with a strange mix of sorrow and joy. There's no way, right? But there's no mistaking that stance, that voice, that wry tone.
But he's been hurt too much in his short existence to assume this is at face value. He just... shakes his head and rests a hand on the back of his head. ]
No, nothing much. Just... You know. Looking for another "winner" stick. I've still got the look of it memorized...
no subject
And? Is that all you've got memorized...?
[ Maybe his lopsided grin is familiar? The one that always echoes Axel's self-confidence, but when paired with the look in his eyes, tells a vastly different story.
Hey -- he said he'd miss you, remember? ]

Roxas? Roxas!
precious cinnamon bun
Roxas doesn't pull out his Keyblades, since he's pretty sure anyone who'd both know him by name and be a threat would be a little more subtle about it. He does turn, though, blinking in surprise at the girl rushing in his direction. Even as she gets closer he doesn't recognize her, but... Something about her feels familiar. Achingly, painfully familiar, like someone's squeezing his heart from a long way away. ]
Oh, uh... [ He gives her a friendly wave. ] Hey, what's up?
cinnamon roll international delight
Well, um, this ocean. And an island that we can't get to yet.
[Seems she took that question literally.]
You're really okay? I can't believe you're here!
[Last time she saw him he was still in a coma, after all.]

So instead, she raises her hands to show she's unarmed, offering a smile.]
It's alright, dear. I'm not dangerous.
no subject
... Sorry. Just-- jumpy. Waking up under an upside-down ocean surrounded by lizard people is a little bit out of my norm.
no subject
["Most". Not her though, given the nature of Chaldea's correction of history and engagement with singularities.
Either way, she closes the distance between them a little more, if only because it's more accommodating for conversation.]
Were you collecting seashells?
[It's best to talk about things that are familiar in an unfamiliar setting, she figures.]

(no subject)
h!!!
It can't be ...
[ But he has to ask this. Just in case. ]
... Roxas?
no subject
He doesn't turn, keeping his back to his Somebody. But his empty reaction and lack of movement are probably answer enough.
Oathkeeper and Oblivion appear in his hands, almost out of instinct-- but he doesn't move to attack, still keeping his back to the other boy. ]
... Sora.
no subject
Uh ... yeah. [ A pause. ] Something wrong?
[ He's not going to summon his Keyblade just yet, more as proof that he's not here to fight him, at all. ]
Why're you here, Roxas?

[ He's honestly disgusted by whoever does. Didn't your father teach you anything, Roxas!? Don't answer that. ]
However, I do have cash on my person. [ Wads of it! In his stupidly expensive wallet! ] I'm just not sure if it's the currency we need.
no subject
... Oh, yeah, I didn't even think of that. I have no idea what they take here... It just looks so good.
no subject
But, Roxas is a child and children should have nice things, especially when they're suddenly thrust into a completely different world. ]
What flavor do you recommend?
