You blink and that's all it takes. At first, the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelry inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes.
B ▢ Other new arrivals aren't so lucky as to arrive in the warm embrace of an apartment's bed. It's currently raining in Shehui, and because of the current post-winter temperature, the rain is certainly cold. You're now in the middle of a busy street, out in the open -- no umbrella to your name. You have the opportunity to grab some shelter underneath an awning or run into a building. Or will someone take pity on you? Or are you not bothered by a sudden, frigid downpour? C ▢ Shehui is looking to celebrate an upcoming holiday -- Yeunai. Something of a bonding holiday that celebrates a variety of relationships, Shehui residents are really into this consumer, capitalist bonanza. On certain Shehui streets are mats that read the ID data of those that stand on them. Whether or not you'd like to take part in this little shindig, a nearby machine will random spit out some data about you and another person on the same long mat. (Need some guidance? Here's a love calculator!) That's a good ice-breaker, right? D ▢ Despite Shehui's distrust of magic, faux magic isn't a big deal. In fact, there's currently a showcase of street performers making money with their craft. Located around Shehui's famed tower, there's a lot of room for some real magic here. Want to take yours for a spin? It's easy enough to simply say you can't reveal your secrets when you're asked about a certain talent. E ▢ With how prominent cell phones are in Shehui, a lot of new and old arrivals have them by now -- you, newbie, might have already picked one up! Despite not having anyone on your contact list yet, you do seem to be getting quite a few messages...though they aren't going to your cell phone. Instead, they're being telepathically broadcast into your head, or even before your eyes! On the opposite end of the spectrum, it's very likely that you're transmitting your own accidental telepathic broadcast...but what are you saying, exactly? F ▢ Another fun activity -- Chips! is always open! Today they're hosting their regular games, but there's also a SongWars competition, including a huge stage and everything. While you may not know the words to these strange, alien pop songs, the crowd may turn in your favour if you put on a good show regardless. What do you win for besting your champion? A nice plastic trophy and a big Chocorrone. G ▢ For some people, the whole "kidnapped to another world with new magic and cell phones and shit" is actually...kind of a downer. For those of you who want to enjoy the evening and maybe meditate for a while, there are plenty of parks with benches that allow you to sit and think. You may not want company, but it may find you regardless... H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character react to this strange world? |

I-I do! [ Liar. ] It's just that most of my most amazing powers have been sealed for so long, I haven't been able to use them...
[ Yeah, it's it. They've been sealed! A good reason, totally believable, this girl is definitely going to buy that. ]
It's Yo-Ha-Ne! [ A pause. ] Oh, you said that... Yes, that's my name. ...Are you from America?
she proclaimed it for all to hear
Oh? So I guess you're actually like ten-thousand years old huh? And still surprised by a few sparks...
[ Amanda buys nothing. ]
I said-yeah.
[ But this is funny, at least. ]
Mmhm, I'm from the USA. You're Japanese, right?

[ She doesn't want to not admit she's a Fallen Angel, but putting up too much chuuni-ness around a new person might turn them off! And it's embarrassing!! ...But also she's a chuuni and it hurts her to admit she's not. ]
I am. I mean, this vessel is!
[ Phew, close one. ] Wait--you said you know magic too?
no subject
I'll defer to your experience, dark mistress.
[ She oughta be able to read the sarcasm in Amanda's voice there. ]
Yeah, I'm a witch back home. And might I say, you picked a pretty cute vessel.
no subject
Because she definitely cannot tell the sarcasm there. ]
What kind of magic can you do, is it like--Eh?! [ That last part totally catches her off guard, so much so that Yoshiko recoils back a little... and starts to slip backwards off the box she's been crouching on. ]
no subject
Witch religion has really fallen by the wayside. ]
Oh lots of-
[ On the one hand, this is going to ruin her whole dumb image, but on the other hand, Amanda's cool, so she sweeps in to catch Yohane... pretty damn gracefully. ]
no subject
Though the idea of a real life witch not just a chuuni is still something that Yoshiko can't wrap her head fully around. ]
Kyaa--!!
[ It's an embarrassing surprised sound that comes out, when she finds herself so easily caught (she's an idol, it's not like she weighs that much) with the color in her cheeks turning a dark shade of red. ]
N-Nice catch...
no subject
That's her reward for preventing a sprained ankle or a concussion or something, right? It's not hard catching a tiny little thing like Yohane, and, smiling (and maybe slightly pink) she leans her forward onto her feet. ]
Couldn't just let you smash your head on the ground.

Back to her feet, Yoshiko finally stands up so she can adjust her dress, hoping so so so much that she didn't flash anyone because she'd rather not have to die of embarrassment in this isekai before learning how to do anything cool. ]
I-It was just a momentary lapse of uh... mana regulation to my magical circuit. [ She lost her balance. ]
But uh, thanks.
no subject
Probably she didn't flash anyone, Amanda knows how to catch a lady probably. ]
Yeah, well, this place isn't exactly friendly to magic so.
[ Here, take your excuse. ]
Any time you wanna fall, I'll sweep you off your feet again.
no subject
Which means she probably would think Amanda's one of the greats. ]
What do you mean? [ As a very new-newcomer, as well as one still learning magic, as far as she knew people were all about performing magic here. She just doesn't quite realize how slight-of-hand might be different from True Magic.
As for the that obviously (even for Yoshiko) suggestive line, she only responds with a dumbfounded look, before looking away. ]
R-Right...
no subject
I mean the real thing, not these dumb... y'know. Tricks. I've done the real thing and I can catch you, so I'm way cooler.
