You blink and that's all it takes. At first, the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelry inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes.
B ▢ Other new arrivals aren't so lucky as to arrive in the warm embrace of an apartment's bed. It's currently raining in Shehui, and because of the current post-winter temperature, the rain is certainly cold. You're now in the middle of a busy street, out in the open -- no umbrella to your name. You have the opportunity to grab some shelter underneath an awning or run into a building. Or will someone take pity on you? Or are you not bothered by a sudden, frigid downpour? C ▢ Shehui is looking to celebrate an upcoming holiday -- Yeunai. Something of a bonding holiday that celebrates a variety of relationships, Shehui residents are really into this consumer, capitalist bonanza. On certain Shehui streets are mats that read the ID data of those that stand on them. Whether or not you'd like to take part in this little shindig, a nearby machine will random spit out some data about you and another person on the same long mat. (Need some guidance? Here's a love calculator!) That's a good ice-breaker, right? D ▢ Despite Shehui's distrust of magic, faux magic isn't a big deal. In fact, there's currently a showcase of street performers making money with their craft. Located around Shehui's famed tower, there's a lot of room for some real magic here. Want to take yours for a spin? It's easy enough to simply say you can't reveal your secrets when you're asked about a certain talent. E ▢ With how prominent cell phones are in Shehui, a lot of new and old arrivals have them by now -- you, newbie, might have already picked one up! Despite not having anyone on your contact list yet, you do seem to be getting quite a few messages...though they aren't going to your cell phone. Instead, they're being telepathically broadcast into your head, or even before your eyes! On the opposite end of the spectrum, it's very likely that you're transmitting your own accidental telepathic broadcast...but what are you saying, exactly? F ▢ Another fun activity -- Chips! is always open! Today they're hosting their regular games, but there's also a SongWars competition, including a huge stage and everything. While you may not know the words to these strange, alien pop songs, the crowd may turn in your favour if you put on a good show regardless. What do you win for besting your champion? A nice plastic trophy and a big Chocorrone. G ▢ For some people, the whole "kidnapped to another world with new magic and cell phones and shit" is actually...kind of a downer. For those of you who want to enjoy the evening and maybe meditate for a while, there are plenty of parks with benches that allow you to sit and think. You may not want company, but it may find you regardless... H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character react to this strange world? |
c!
I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that...
[ Riko jumps away, continuing to apologize...and before she knows it, she steps onto the other mat. ]

You two fit together with 78%.
It was enough to cause Suzu to drop her chuuni act for juuust a bit.]
Ahhh...!! Noooo! I won’t accept this! I-I'm sure you're a nice person, but I made up my mind that I would forever wait for An---

Such a despicable device; a Tower of Babel built with a foundation of bullshit. I, a banished 「Lucifer」, have no need for the mortal concept known as love. For it is the will of the cruel God that I never attain or know of such, my eternal punishment as one who must bear a Mark of Sin…
I shall destroy this frickin’ construct of lies!! BLOOD FOR THE ALTAR!!!
[She proceeds to make a futile attempt in making her words reality via attacking the matchmaking machine with her boot.]
「Die! DIE!! DIIIIIEEEE!!!」

[ The number's right in front of her eyes, but she'll read it aloud nonetheless. That's pretty high, and she's not sure what to make of it. But hey, she can blush just in case. Better safe than sorry. Then Suzu shows off her denial...which confuses Riko even more. This thing is done just for fun, right? RIGHT???
Also, Riko's a little too late with her intervention—it shouldn't be surprising that when she hears about the blood and the altar, she jumps off the mat and tries to stop Suzu. It just ends at tries, though. When Riko realizes it shouldn't take too long for people to start gathering around here to see what this is about, she gently pats Suzu's shoulder. ]
Umm...I think we should get going...

[The other girl's words make her pause at mid-stomp. On one hand, she doesn't want to go along with what some stranger asks, because she's a rebel!
... On the other, Suzu doesn't really do well with so much people crowding around and staring at her, and she doesn't really want to start crying on the spot sooooo---
She'll just turn around sharply, folding her arms across her chest.]
Tch! You barely escaped with your life, you disgusting creation created by the hands of foolish 「mortals」. [So she says to the machine as she storms away. Up to you if you want to follow this angry delusional edgelord.]
