TDMs can be used for anyone interested in the game and/or testing out a new muse.

Test Drive samples are encouraged to be used for your application sample, though they are NOT a requirement.

Feel free to use one prompt, multiple prompts or make up your own!

These threads can be considered game canon upon game opening if you so choose.

Telepathy and magic can be used at any point in time on the TDM, from Prompt A to your wildcard prompt. A specific prompt exists, however, that makes sure all characters have an equal chance to use this mechanic within the TDM. You're encouraged to have characters use telepathy and their magic accidentally or even purposefully on any TDM prompt.

If you aren't set on your character's power yet or want to try out a few, you're still able to use the test drive. Maybe your character is a late bloomer and hasn't fully unlocked their intuitive drive yet. In the case of multiple powers, only prompts that contain the power you choose for your application will count as potential game canon threads.

While only one character can be apped or reserved during a cycle, feel free to post with more than one character if you like! This is for those who are uncertain of their first choice or who would like to try out different characters within the setting.

IMPORTANT: This world is low-frequency. No canon powers or abilities are allowed! Also check out the setting information for more info about Shehui.

IMPORTANT: This TDM won't be canon! It's a little dicey in-game right now, which isn't exactly fair for in-game players who are currently trapped, as well as out-of-game hopefuls who want to get as much CR potential as possible. Think of this as an alternate timeline.

You blink and that's all it takes. At first, the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelry inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes. A ▢ Or, perhaps, that isn't the weirdest thing you're experiencing right now. Instead of just being magicked away, blinking your eyes open to stare at a video game or random tree, you blearily awaken from a sleepy daze in a bed that isn't your own. It does, however, belong to someone else...someone who is right next to you. Do they see you first, or are you the first to be aware of your new Shehui sleeping situation? B ▢ Other new arrivals aren't so lucky as to arrive in the warm embrace of an apartment's bed. It's currently raining in Shehui, and because of the current post-winter temperature, the rain is certainly cold. You're now in the middle of a busy street, out in the open -- no umbrella to your name. You have the opportunity to grab some shelter underneath an awning or run into a building. Or will someone take pity on you? Or are you not bothered by a sudden, frigid downpour? C ▢ Shehui is looking to celebrate an upcoming holiday -- Yeunai. Something of a bonding holiday that celebrates a variety of relationships, Shehui residents are really into this consumer, capitalist bonanza. On certain Shehui streets are mats that read the ID data of those that stand on them. Whether or not you'd like to take part in this little shindig, a nearby machine will random spit out some data about you and another person on the same long mat. (Need some guidance? Here's a love calculator!) That's a good ice-breaker, right? D ▢ Despite Shehui's distrust of magic, faux magic isn't a big deal. In fact, there's currently a showcase of street performers making money with their craft. Located around Shehui's famed tower, there's a lot of room for some real magic here. Want to take yours for a spin? It's easy enough to simply say you can't reveal your secrets when you're asked about a certain talent. E ▢ With how prominent cell phones are in Shehui, a lot of new and old arrivals have them by now -- you, newbie, might have already picked one up! Despite not having anyone on your contact list yet, you do seem to be getting quite a few messages...though they aren't going to your cell phone. Instead, they're being telepathically broadcast into your head, or even before your eyes! On the opposite end of the spectrum, it's very likely that you're transmitting your own accidental telepathic broadcast...but what are you saying, exactly? F ▢ Another fun activity -- Chips! is always open! Today they're hosting their regular games, but there's also a SongWars competition, including a huge stage and everything. While you may not know the words to these strange, alien pop songs, the crowd may turn in your favour if you put on a good show regardless. What do you win for besting your champion? A nice plastic trophy and a big Chocorrone. G ▢ For some people, the whole "kidnapped to another world with new magic and cell phones and shit" is actually...kind of a downer. For those of you who want to enjoy the evening and maybe meditate for a while, there are plenty of parks with benches that allow you to sit and think. You may not want company, but it may find you regardless... H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character react to this strange world?

[ Mari throws a arm over her forehead, as melancholy as can be. ]

The waves of love are turbulent and unforgiving, the fate of all we are rests on this very mat.

[ and for good measure she gives it a nice ol' stomp. The machine takes that at its cue and gets to work and gives them this result]

DIA CAN HANDLE IT. she is TOUGH.

[SHOCK! It might be completely obvious that Dia is teasing. She seems really happy to see Mari right now, who cares if they only fit together 63%! The love calculator knows nothing!]

surprising but not unwelcome.

Stranger things have happened after all (like them being here, in another universe, with magic powers) ]

[ She lowers her voice for dramatic effect, and reaches to clasp Dia's hands in her own. ]

I promise to love you till the END OF TIME!

[ She punctuates that last bit in English.

And then she tones down the theatrics and leans in so she can whisper-- ]

Besides, the technology here is mindblowing! I'm sure there's some cosmetic procedure you can undergo to make you beautiful in my eyes again once 2020 gets here.

[ Ah yes, leave it to Mari to ruin a moment. ]

When Mari figures out what Dia's "power" is, she is going to have a field day with it. Promise.]

Mari-san, do you know how to keep a touching moment intact?

[She sighs, obviously shaking her head at such a thing. But in the very least it is out of fondness and not Strict Dia Mode?]

[ Mari is going to lose her whole damn mind when she finds out about this.

For now, she smiles. Expression warm and honest in that way most people seldom get to see. ]

Sorry to keep you waiting.

[ She loops her arm through Dia's and tugs her forward so they can get away from this robot fortune teller. ]

But better fashionably late than never! You won't have to go another day without me again.

[ Mari's pretty good with seeming like she's coping with this whole situation-- she's got more than a few questions but she'd rather have a pleasant chat with her friend and not get bogged down by icky thoughts. ]

Someone needs to keep you young and lively after all.

[ And that someone is mari, obviously. ]

[She has to tease one more time, especially after seeing that look. The emotion of seeing Mari again after so long is almost too much.

She's happy, she's worried. Dia doesn't want everyone to end up here when they have a competition to win at home.

Dia is going to start walking with Mari's prompting.]

It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do, so why don't you get me up to speed?

Of course, how silly of me. I go without seeing you for a few months and I have forgotten everything. I apologize.

[Dia knows where she is going, luckily! So they can walk there arm in arm.]

[ So many questions, so little time (or rather, she's not going to be very interested in asking questions once she gets a nice expensive piece of cake in front of her). ]

[ Mari flashes a wink. ]

I've been here for a few months now. Ruby, Riko-san, and Chika-san are here with me. Riko-san came at the same time as I did, then Ruby, then Chika-san.

[She hides a laugh behind her hand.]

[ It is, at that moment that Mari stops in her tracks. If Dia keeps walking she'll suddenly feel a tug on her arm-- because Mari has frozen in place, but her arm slipped looped through Dia's. ]

Dia.. you're not..

[ And then, when the reboot on her brain is finally finished and she comes back to life she puts her hands on Dia's shoulders and shake her thoroughly. ]

What kind of cafe! Dia! What! Kind! Of! Cafe!

[ She gives Dia a little shake with every. single. word. ]

Is it a maid cafe? Dia! Do you wear a costume! Diiiiii-aaa!

[ She's going to have a stroke, forreal. ]

[She should have expected this. Because when would Dia Kurosawa ever work at a maid cafe, or a cafe in general.

But the shaking is a little much.]

Mari-san!

[Fine. FINE. She's gonna let her finish her little moment here.]

I wear a uniform, but i-it isn't like that!

[She's scratching the area around her beauty mark, juuuust a little. Maybe it isn't a complete lie. She's bright red too, good going Mari.]

[ Ah, the tell-tale signs of a flustered Dia. Mari, now that her soul has been restored and renewed, takes Dia by the hand and pulls her along. ]

We need to go! Now! If I don't see this for myself soon I'm going to DIE Dia!

[ She totally has no clue where she's going but she's trying to lead anyway. ]

I don't work today, Mari-san!

[She's letting Mari drag her but does she even know where she's going!?]

You won't die if you don't see it!

[Now she is even more embarrassed than she was before.]

[ Like Dia's just flipped some magic switch, Mari comes to a grinding halt all of a sudden.

And then,

She falls back, one arm splayed over her face like she's exhausted and ill. ]

D-Dia, I'm dying, right now.

[ Mari has basically thrown herself into Dia's arms. She peaks through her fingers to look up at her wearily. ]

The only thing that will save me.......... is to see you in a maid outfit.

[For an entire fives minutes, she missed Mari. She wouldn't change her arrival for anything, and she wouldn't take back the fact that seeing her is a happy moment.

But good lord is this Extra.

She lets Mari lean, and she sighs— loudly.]

What is so special about seeing me in something like that?
