would the palai mention the uvis to the travelers if they were asking around about what all to expect?

edit: also...what kind of movies are these guys filming/doing if they're obsessed with filmed media

They definitely would! If characters receive information about these creatures, they can of course inform others about them from there.

The Palai are obsessed with essentially any and all types of media based on what they've been given, and that's a very wide range of genres. Essentially, whatever you can think up the Palai probably know of and/or are intrigued by. They have a certain affinity for drama and romance genres, however.
