TDMs can be used for anyone interested in the game and/or testing out a new muse.

Test Drive samples are encouraged to be used for your application sample, though they are NOT a requirement.

Feel free to use one prompt, multiple prompts or make up your own!

These threads can be considered game canon upon game opening if you so choose.

Telepathy and magic can be used at any point in time on the TDM, from Prompt A to your wildcard prompt. A specific prompt exists, however, that makes sure all characters have an equal chance to use this mechanic within the TDM. You're encouraged to have characters use telepathy and their magic accidentally or even purposefully on any TDM prompt.

If you aren't set on your character's power yet or want to try out a few, you're still able to use the test drive. Maybe your character is a late bloomer and hasn't fully unlocked their intuitive drive yet. In the case of multiple powers, only prompts that contain the power you choose for your application will count as potential game canon threads.

While only one character can be apped or reserved during a cycle, feel free to post with more than one character if you like! This is for those who are uncertain of their first choice or who would like to try out different characters within the setting.

IMPORTANT: This world is low-frequency. No canon powers or abilities are allowed! Also check out the setting information for more info about Shehui.

You blink and that's all it takes. At first, the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelry inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes. A ▢ Perhaps the signet in your chest isn't the most pressing matter right now. You notice that the building you're in (Chips!) is pretty large -- but even that isn't the most demanding thing capturing your interest right now. It's the video game you're in front of. Maybe it's Duck Hunt, or a zombie killing game that involves those huge red and blue guns. There are a variety of arcade games in Chips!, after all -- but are you Player 1 or Player 2? B ▢ After a strange incident a couple of days ago, the area around Anmung tower has been essentially dead. This may or may not be lucky for you -- since you're on the top of the observation deck, and all. If you're afraid of heights...oops. It's not that people aren't allowed to be up there, it's just that there aren't too many people. The view is still pretty good, though! C ▢ Let's say that you just want some answers and information about the strange signet you now have. You may find some success in asking around, but be warned: not everyone in Shehui will know what the fuck you're talking about. If you're lucky enough, you may eventually run into a coven member that will be able to explain. D ▢ Since your character didn't show up via any special means, they may not know that magic is a bit taboo in Shehui. If their new magic manifests, it might be a bit of an issue. Locals certainly won't like it, and they'll definitely attract the attention of more than a few monitors. The good news? This is also a pretty good way to snag the attention of a coven member who is here to help! E ▢ Let's get back to some fun stuff. Your character is enveloped in darkness for a brief moment, something clasped in their hand. Lights, camera, action -- the glowing screen that suddenly flashes on turns out to belong to a karaoke booth TV! You and and someone else have been locked in this booth for an hour -- at least there's a mini bar and some snacks! F ▢ For something not so fun, the snowfall has stopped in Shehui, except for those residences and businesses who want to keep paying for it. A lot aren't willing to cough up the credits, so it's safe to say the streets aren't. Everything is frosty and slippery, from melted snow to frozen water littering the sidewalks. Watch your step or you could hurt yourself...or bump into an unexceptional stranger! G ▢ Finally, you may have had the fortunate luck of ending up in the coven's apartment complex. There are names on the door to all apartments, if you want to go exploring. Whether you find the name of someone you recognize, or maybe you just want some shelter from the cold weather, knock knock...is anyone home? H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character react to this strange world?

[ C. ]

[You're going about your business as usual. Whatever it is you'll suddenly realize someone has followed you. There's a light tug on your sleeve, coattail or whatever other article of clothing you might be wearing.

Elize peers at you uncertainly, a strange doll clutched in her arms.]

U-Um... excuse me...

[ F. ]

[Elize has traveled in the snow plenty of times. She remembers how difficult it was at first but then how much easier it got after awhile. Also how Rowen or Jude would take her hand and help her across slippery terrain. Well neither Rowen or Jude are here with her as she carefully makes her way down the icy street. So she has to do this herself!

She seems to be managing fine, arms slightly outstretched to keep her balance as she crosses s particularly slippery patch of ice. Teepo is floating after her. For all her caution though the inevitable happens and her feet slip out from under her.

Down she goes and she yelps in surprise, sliding a ways along the ice only to crash into the person who had been walking in front of her. That person happens to be you and now you're both on the ice.]

[ H. ] Wildcard! Hit me with something else?!

[ Kids are kinda his forte in life, so he's immediately in Big Brother Mode when he catches the eyes of a much shorter girl. She's clutching a toy and has dangerously cute eyes that are absolutely something she's had to have weaponized against the guardians in her life. He puts on a kind smile and turns to face her. ]

Hey there. You lost?

[pixiecircle]

[She has her face slightly hidden behind the doll which stares back at him, unmoving.]

Oh, um... well I guess that's true. I don't really know where I am. [Although that wasn't the strangest part so far but not that he asks that maybe it was a better place to start.

Suddenly the doll isn't so lifeless and it bounces in her arms, wiggling what looks like horns but definitely aren't, thank you very much.]

HEY HEY! You're not the kidnapper responsible for this, are you?!

[fangstrike]

[ He's startled by the doll suddenly... moving... it's not the weirdest thing he's seen but at least if it was an animal and not a toy, it could've given him some warning beforehand. He stares for a long moment before waving his hand dismissively. ]

Haha, don't look at me. I'm just as kid-- person-- napped as you are.

[ He crouches down to get on their level and seem a little less like a scary adult. She looks about Karol's age. ]

Don't be scared, though. That means you're not in this alone. There's a whole group of us stuck in this mess together. Maybe there's someone you know around here, too.

[pixiecircle]

[Teepo is glaring at him suspiciously but Elize seems a little more responsive. She lets Teepo go and he floats upwards, bobbing in the air.]

I dunno. You still seem preeeeeetty suspicious if you ask me.

[Elize shakes her head slightly.] Stop it, Teepo. You're being really rude. [Teepo droops a little but falls silent and Elize smiles slightly at Yuri.]

Thank you and... I believe you. I didn't know there were others here too. I was looking for someone to ask about where I am but... does that mean you don't know either? [But she hopes he's right. She hopes Jude, Leia, Rowen or somehow even Milla were here too. Heck she'd even settle for Alvin over being all alone...]

[fangstrike]

Haha, that's fair, lil' guy.

[ He IS a criminal and he HAS done some questionable things in the name of his own brand of justice, so he won't slight him. But he's been around long enough to know he'd rather watch over a kid like her than let her wander around on her own in this place. He's never been able to turn his back on someone in need. ]

Don't worry about it. He's just lookin' out for you, right?

I mean, I sort of know? But it's not like I'm from this place.

[pixiecircle]

[Teepo perks up happily.] Yeah, that's right! I'm just looking out for ya! .... Heeey, flattery won't get you anywhere, wise guy.

[Elize is meanwhile lost in thought.] You're not? Did you wake up here too? I was standing there with everyone and then... it felt like I fell asleep. And then I was here and there was this thing... [She trails off and winces, a slight shiver running down her spine. The signet embedded in the space above her chest felt so uncomfortable.

She scrunches her face in frustration.]

Nothing makes any sense.

[dividepain]

[ With avoiding the icy sidewalks being an impossible task, Laphicet figured out that it might be a better idea to try to slide carefully across the streets. He's been doing pretty well, but only because there weren't many people around to begin with. A few minutes after arriving on a much busier street, someone bumps into him. ]

Oh...?!

[ Thankfully, the impact isn't enough to make him lose his balance but it was close. ]

Are you okay?

[pixiecircle]

[Her body aches from the fall but she's grateful she didn't take out the person she just ran into. Teepo bounces in the air above her, frowning in concern. Sort of.]

I-I'm fine... I'm so sorry. I tripped...

[Teepo nods in agreement.] Don't be angry at her! It's sssooo slippery.

[She carefully climbs back to her feet and brushes off her skirt.] Are you okay too?

[dividepain]

[ Caught off guard, Laphicet forgets to reach out to her to help her up. You don't get to see a talking stuffed toy every day. Not that he's aware that the voice belongs to Teepo. ]

D-Don't be, it's really slippery here. And I think I'm fine. Unless...did you hear that voice?

[ He didn't hit his head or anything, and yet... ]

[pixiecircle]

[Elize tilts her head slightly, frowning in confusion.] A voice? I didn't hear anything. [She's assuming he heard something she didn't since hearing Teepo is so normal for her.

Teepo nods.]

You must be hearing things! No one's talking but us.

[dividepain]

[ It's that voice, again! And he's pretty sure that it was the toy that spoke up. With his narrowed eyes fixed on Teepo, Laphicet asks rather bluntly: ]

Did it...talk?

[pixiecircle]

Huh? ... Oh! You meant Teepo? [She smiles and glances up at him. Teepo slowly floats lower to be more at eye level with the two shorties here.]

Yeah. Teepo always talks. I'm sorry if he startled you.

I'm totally harmless! I'm just cut and cuddly so don't be scared!

!!! F

[ jude doesn't notice who barreled into him right away, groaning in pain and rubbing his lower back with a wince. but when he looks over to apologize— he was in the way, after all— his eyes snap wide open. ]

Elize?!

[ it can't be... it can't be really her, right? but there's no mistaking those big, green eyes. and is that— yep, it is. there's no mistaking teepo, either. ]

Elize!

[ jude's entire face lights up, and he reaches his arms out to steady her before his expression changes into something more concerned. ]

Are you okay? Does anything hurt?

[Owie... She's a little dazed from the collision and then the pain that shot through her when she fell but all of that disappears the instant she realizes who she bumped into.

Her whole demeanor changes instantly and she beams.] Oh, Jude! You're here! [She's so relieved. She'd been so frightened when she had woken up here all alone and with this weird piece of jewelry in her and... all of it.

Elize grips his arms as he helps her, little fingers curling into the fabric of his sleeves as she steadies herself better on the ice.]

I'm okay. Don't worry. I'm sorry I crashed into you.

[Suddenly Jude gets a face full of Teepo.] WAH-HEY, it's Jude! We missed you, pal!

[talim]

Yeah, I'm here.

[ he smiles softly before standing up and reaching out a hand for her to grasp on to. ]

Don't worry about it. Just hold onto me and we'll go somewhere to sit and talk—

[ ... and there's teepo. it's been so long since jude heard that voice he can't help his widening grin. ]

Yes, yes, I missed you, too, Teepo.

[pixiecircle]

[She takes his offered hand and nods.] Okay. Lead the way. [Jude will definitely know what's going on. Even if he doesn't he'll find out because Jude is smart and dependable and most importantly here so she doesn't have to worry about being all alone again.

Teepo floats after them, chattering away.]

Wow, you're making me blush all over! You always hold the key to my heart, Jude~ [But is that really a good thing...?]

But hey, we were looking all over for everyone! The others are with you too, aren't they?

[talim]

[ jude manages a laugh. he's so glad to see elize, but so worried about how rough this might be on her, being so far away from everything and everyone she's come to know. there's a bench nearby, and they sit down, jude's hand still in hers. ]

Alvin is here, but the rest...

[ with a slight frown, jude shakes his head. he gives her small hand a squeeze. ]

I'm afraid they're not here with us. It's been months since I've seen you, Elize, and Alvin took his time getting here too. For a while, it was just me.

[pixiecircle]

[Oh... he looks so sad. Or maybe he's worried? She is having a hard time telling which it is but his words make her feel both those things.]

Oh... I'm sorry, Jude. I should've gotten here sooner then. I guess... I didn't expect Milla to be here with you but...

Alvin is always late so you can't depend on him for annnnything. But how could Leia and Rowen ditch ya like that?!

[Elize wonders if that's the case. It doesn't seem so. He says he's been here for months but...] But... that's so weird. I just saw you. Then suddenly I was here. But you've been here all alone all this time?

[outofplace]

[Well he wasn't prepared for that. Normally he'd pride himself on being able to avoid it but not this time. It happens a little too fast.]

Woah, there-- watch where you're...

[Alvin blinks several times, but the reality is the same. He knows this girl--]

Knocked over by a little girl... looks like I really am getting rusty.

[He chuckles and pulls himself to his feet only to hold his hand out to Elize with a grin. Seeing her here-- the way he remembers her, no less-- is a complicated mix of feelings. But he's had some time to get used to that being the case here. It doesn't look like she's hurt, but that's not always easy to tell.]

Hello there, little lady. Imagine my luck running into you here.

[pixiecircle]

[She's rubbing the throbbing in her lower back from landing so hard on her behind but his voice rings familiar. Of course it does. She glances up in surprise.] Alvin! [She sounds torn between relieved and surprised. Maybe it's a little of both. Finally, a familiar face! She was getting worried she ended up here all alone.]

Well hey there lil buddy! We were looking all over for you! We know you're completely helpless without us around.

[She hesitates for a moment but then takes Alvin's hand and pulls herself to her feet. She quickly lets go though and dusts herself off.] Does that mean... you know where here is?

C.

[whitewishes]

[ Well, he was in a strange place he didn't recognize, but still, he couldn't refuse a child who seems to need his help. He'll stop and turn his head towards her with a bit of a smile. ]

Yes? Do you need help with anything?

[pixiecircle]

[She seems a bit shy and hesitates for a moment. As a result the doll in her arms suddenly pops free and bounces in the air in front of Richard, grinning.]

Hey there, stranger! Wanna give us a hand? We'd just love to know where the heck we are and when the next ticket outta here is being sold.

C.

[mortuaria]

[ Nico feels a tug on the back of his tshirt and turns, ready to feel annoyed, but stops. She's young, and something in the way she holds herself reminds him of Hazel, before Hazel grew in power and confidence. Instead he gently tugs his shirt out of her grasp so he can turn around and crouch down to her level. ]

Hey. You okay?

[pixiecircle]

[She doesn't expect him to suddenly crouch to meet her gaze and she shuffles back a little, a little shy. After a brief hesitation in which she hugs the strange doll in her arms a little tighter she looks back up to look at him.]

Oh, well... um... I'm sorry for the trouble but I don't really know where I am. I was hoping you could tell me so I could try to find my way back to Sharilton.
