OOC NOTES
▢ Sorry for the lateness on this! Head mod was out of town for the weekend -- the lateness was Plurked about, but as anyone who has the site knows, it was a hot ass mess all day Saturday so the mystery of the missing mod post is now explained! ▢ In case you missed it, the new world information is live!There’s a whole bunch of good information there, so make sure to keep it in mind when playing stuff out in Shehui. This is copy pasted from last time, but doop doop easily linked new world info. ▢ Since inquiring minds wanted to know, Genette's letter DID go out to the newbies that came through. However, since her connection with Qri is severed, she has no idea about anyone's name or powers. The letter looks essentially the same, sans any specifics about a person's identity or powers. This is also helpful since she's shoving them under doors willy nilly, and it'd be good to not have personal info floating around for non-coven members to find and be suspicious of. ▢ Apps are closed and we got a bunch of new people this round! You probably saw the OOC intro post, but if not? It's not too late to say hello! ▢ The AC post is now up to date, sans dropped characters. Newbies and oldbies can now post their AC at any time! ▢ Speaking of AC, who won the Bonus AC Shehui Lottery? Goro Akechi! Congrats m'boy, you've won 5,000 credits and an invitation to intimately participate in the upcoming Sunsu festival! You'll be PMed about this opportunity closer to the actual date, but start thinking about horrible/fun/disgusting/engaging/etc. events, decorations, activities. He'll also be introduced as a person of honor -- what does that entail? Who knows for now! |
IC EVENTS
▢ On the 10th (hey, that's today!), all coven member apartment complex members are sent a message about the Sunsu Credit Gain program Shehui holds for all new citizen buildings. In order to promote unity and neighborly-ness, the Shehui government incentivized gift giving based on a Secret Santa-like system. You know what's coming next. IC Secret Santa! (Why is it only coven members? Aren't there other people on other floors of this apartment building? mmmmm shut up). ▢ Each citizen is given an initial person to buy a gift for, as well as a bonus person. OOCly, you can give a gift to both characters, or either or. Sometimes it doesn't make sense for a character to give one other character a gift. Maybe they hate them, maybe they would never interact, maybe they just don't give a shit. Either way, this doubles your opportunity to participate! Also, the list was combed through to eliminate character and player duplicates, but to err is human. ▢ Fun Fact: Sonic got himself for both gift recipients before adjustments because he's a freak. ▢ What do characters get for this act of charity? A free week of stay in Shehui, plus 500 credits per gift given. There's also an explanation given (via ID card, as well as fliers hung in the apartment complexes) that the gift doesn't need to be a tangible item. It can be more figurative, but the gift needs to be reported either way. This means characters can perform favors for one another, or maybe try to do something in the best interest of someone else and it still counts! Gifts are reported by typing or speaking them into a keypad located on the bottom floor of each apartment building. Let the good deeds and gifts commence! Also: there is no IC punishment for NOT completing this, and the cutoff date is December 20th, AKA Sunsu! |
PROMPTS
▢ The job board has been updated with the following jobs: holiday mascot, singing delivery person and bakers. Holiday mascots are self-explanatory -- festive animal suit, spreading good cheer. Singing delivery people are like candygrams except they deliver everything, even embarrassing shit. Finally, the demand for baked goods and holiday desserts is exponential this time of year! Anyone with a proclivity for baking will be handsomely rewarded. All of these jobs pay 1,000 credits a week. ▢ For those who signed up for Genette's Snitch Squad, you'll find you'll be sent an initial telepathic "text" on December 14th. Here she'll ask about what all you know about Shehui, as well as discuss the plan moving forward. ▢ Outside of the Snitch Squad, Genette will send a blanket mental ping to everyone that they should participate in the Secret Santa -- if they give both gifts, they'll be able to stay an extra two weeks, which potentially gives them more time with Qri. For those that don't participate...that's a bridge they'll cross when they come to it! |

Assuming snitch squad participation is indeed allowed despite my nonexistence til the 16th, I was curious -- what kind of stuff would characters be reasonably able to report at this point? Whether from library reading (outside of redacted history) or say, working various odd jobs including security at Anmung, etc. etc. etc.?

sorry head mod-chan, i replied with my character account, oopsANYWAY YOU GOT THE NOTIFICATION but the initial information will be sparse until Gentte asks for more infiltration. Information thus far will be based on how much characters notice they're being monitored, and there will of course be mod guidance on how much is reasonable to be seen thus far. Any information characters might think is relevant would be appreciated, but of course they won't know much until they brainstorm how to get more information.

I ask because "Fennes" isn't a part of Shirley's name that she'd give commonly (it's a second "true name" and giving it out is a bit of a personal thing). This means she's Shirley Fennes on the OOC Taken list, but ICly she'd be giving her name as Shirley to everyone including the Shehui government. As such it'd be a little awkward if people ICly knew her true name without her telling them, which is why I'm being a nitpick and asking whether 1) the exact names on the list are what the givers see, in which case I'd request that the Fennes part be removed to avoid possible OOC->IC misunderstandings or 2) the list names are for player reference, and I should try and put up a note somewhere on Shirley's infopost or whatever explaining this whole deal.
I hope that made sense, haha. Please let me know if I need to clarify any of that!
