i can put pretty formatting here when i'm not in a major rushHello Spellbind! Your head mod is here, finally, to give you an official update. (Thank you to Otis for giving an unofficial update to everyone on Discord/her plurk.) To start things off, I sincerely apologize for this period of unresponsiveness -- I know it has hindered your enjoyment and potential to play within the game. This is especially true of those who were accepted in February, who didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the game with new characters.
I definitely owe it to you to explain what's been going on (which I've only available the past few hours and wanted to bang this out before the 1st, EST, so apologies for not immediately saying anything)! This will get a little detailed, as I feel I owe it to everyone to explain the situation to the fullest so you can better understand the lack of correspondence. If you'd like to skip the health TL;DR, skip to the last "---".
( Read more... )Now that the sob story is out of the way, here's the schedule of events to get things back on track:
-
For now, AC will be a check-in that is open for 5 days, like a typical app cycle. If you have AC, by all means post it! Otherwise, you can simply write something on the sheet and consider it done with.
Today, a TDM of sorts will be put up, which doubles as that post-eviction log. Apps will open at 12 AM, like usual, but
written samples will be allowed. They will also be open for
7 days, unlike the usual 5 in order to adjust for written samples or potential threads for apps.
Tomorrow, the weekly update from Saturday will be posted and will contain the hacking information everyone has been waiting for (which may explain a thing or two about the TDM). There will also be prompts for what characters can do now so they aren't just sitting in stasis.
Saturday, a weekly update post will be put up with a few other little things just to get the schedule back to where it should be. There will also be instructions for
helper mod positions. Hopefully helpers who are players will be more invested and understanding of the game culture and needs, so we can avoid total communication breakdowns in the future! More information on what you'd be doing will be on the Saturday post.
Also, I definitely understand if you dropped during the downtime -- no one wants to commit to a game where you think the future is uncertain, or it's teetering on a cliff's edge. Absolutely understandable, in my opinion. However, if you do wish to come back, you have drop immunity -- just reply to the app page reclaiming your character at any time in March and you'll be reaccepted, no questions asked! This applies to any characters dropped after February 15th.
