The foreign moon has come as close to the hub island as it possibly can, and the nocturnal deer aren't the only things acting up at this point. Those with intact spiritual intuition or with the power of emotional understanding will have felt the heaviness in the air, and as the days have dragged on that thickness has only intensified. Tonight that thickness might be explained by the heavy fog that's settled in on the island. However, that doesn't mean it's all that's making the night unsettling. All across the island, spirits are taking shape. They're humanoid in nature and completely devoid of sound -- like holographic projections with the audio broken. They flashstep around at times, and other instances they'll walk around like a normal person. Their mouths move and yet no sound escapes. They tangibility is as erratic as their movements. In one moment they have control over their solid mass, despite being translucent, but other times they can walk through walls or pass right through flesh. Their clothes are indicative of a somewhat modern time period, and sometimes they're indistinguishable from other coven members outside of their blue, sepia-toned hue. Another inconsistency is that their demeanor and actions are as varied as any modern society's. Some of these spirits are confused and angry. Some are trying to go about life as best they can. One might be able to pick up a sword and swing it, while another might want to braid your hair. Ages, strengths, dispositions...they match the state of the person as they once were. But where do new, potential coven members come into this equation.
B ▢ No matter whether your character is spirit-y or 100% as they were, the spirits in question are still going to interact with them. For this prompt, they've run into a kind spirit. Whether this is a child spirit tying to round them up into a game of tag or an adult spirit who is trying to communicate with them in some way, this spirit will be neutral or welcoming to their presence, as well as to the presence of other coven members. C ▢ Other spirits may not be so friendly. While their demeanor will mirror the type of person they were when they were alive, the spirits run on very simple and exaggerated emotions. A person with a gruff demeanor in their life will exist as an aggravated spirit. A person with violent tendencies when alive will exhibit as a malevolent ghost. This is the type of spirit you happen to have encountered. How will this interaction turn out? |
Brie's been pretty busy trying to fix the wild boar problem that the island has been having, which the results? It's hard to tell if they're paying off, yet. She's somehow smuggled out some Elto bones and tried to use them as something of an electric fence system around the boar-dense areas. The boars who are alive seem to be reacting well! Others, however, are not.
E ▢ These boars and spirits happen to be attracted to several shrines located on the island. While the religious affiliations of these shrines are unknown and vastly differ from one another, the spirits seem to be drawn towards them. If your character happens to be exploring the island and finds one of these unique locations...good luck with that hoard of spirits and/or boar zombies. F ▢ Boar zombie tusks should be avoided at all costs, but there's also another threat they pose: their bite. Instead of turning characters into the undead, their bites or their saliva results in something of an instant poisoning. Characters touched by their mouths will die temporarily, just without the whole gaudy spectacle of death. Everything will stay exactly as normal, except they too will be turned spirited. This counts for new characters and old characters -- so if you don't want your character to go ghost, you should avoid their gnashing teeth at all costs. |
Despite the creepy air the island holds right now, let's say you want to do something...normal. No boars, no spirits. Just some good ol' fashioned test driving. You have a few options, though they still may be tinged with the spirit of...spirits.
H ▢ There's also the issue of NPCs preparing for new characters -- which they did! There's the beginning of a welcome party set up, though it's obviously abandoned. With all the craziness going on, the base camp is thrown into chaos. If your character makes it here from wherever they spawned (or if they spawned here in the first place), they may be confused by the chaos. Asking questions might be good, especially since there's still so many to ask outside of dead people suddenly coming back from the grave. I ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
amy rose | sonic the hedgehog
Gee, this place sure looks creepy... I wonder what happened to make everyone leave? [ It's clear, just from a glance at the small hedgehog, that she's both curious and unsettled. Not like that would stop her from glancing over at some of the unfinished party favors, the tables with crafts on it.. She leans over to squint at it, a hand to her hip as she backs away.
At least her stomping around got her some kind of answer, outside of the ridiculous things she's already been told. Okay.. not ridiculous, just frustrating. Amy groans, shaking her head. ] How long are they going to need me here? Not that I mind, but.. [ It comes out as a whine, a feeling of sadness overcoming her. She has a life that she'll miss! That she needs to get back to at, at some point!
The only thing she's certain about is how alone she feels without any of her friends beside her. ]
..I guess as long as it takes to keep my friends safe.
BOO
[ She finds out not long after what made everyone leave. It would be creepy, if not for the lovely hue of blue the spirits are taking. And, maybe, the fact that Amy always has a soft spot for anything small and defenseless. Which includes children.. even ghost children. ]
What is it, little guy? Do you need help with something? [ Even though the boy can't physically touch her, he expresses his want to lead her somewhere through phasing a hand right through her own gloved one. ] Oh! Do you want me to follow you? [ She pretends to hold his hand, to move at pace with the child as he phases through the grass his feet should touch. But the child runs faster, enough to where she has to tell this kid to slow down--
--but it's too late..... Amy crashes into something that's most definitely a person, and falls right back onto her butt. The child stops its run, almost waiting for her to get back up. Her eyes dart from the spirit, to the person she so rudely ran into. ]
Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I didn't even look where I was going! Let me help you up.
MOON GAZING
[ Amy's situated herself among the foliage, taking a seat between both the dancing animals and the glowing flowers. It's a spot she picked out personally, because it's the one with the best view. After everything that's happened today, her hammer being gone, being kidnapped (ok, admittedly, that one's not new), helping save everything in existence.. she thinks she deserves some ogling right now. ]
It's so.. beautiful. [ It's the first thing that comes out of her mouth, even if this 'beautiful' thing is the bane of everyone's existence. The moon manages to make her think about her home, and how it's just Amy Rose, all by herself. No Tails, no Knuckles, Cream, or, or... ] Oohh, I wish Sonic was here. [ She rests her head in her hands, heaving a long sigh. ] Then maybe all of this wouldn't be as terrible as it is!
WILD CARD

Amanda stumbles a little, catching herself on her hands and knees as something that is solid bumps into her, and shakes her head as she looks over. Her eyes go wide for a moment, but it's not the surprise of someone who would find a talking hedgehog girl completely baffling. ]
Uh, no, no don't worry about it.
[ And she waves Amy off a little as she stands. ]
no subject
[ The spirit of the boy waiting on her meanders to her side, tugging at the end of her dress with varying levels of success. She briefly smiles down at him before refocusing her attention on the girl in front of her, sounding rather hopeful when she speaks up again. ]
Hey, you wouldn't happen to be one of the locals here, would you?
no subject
No, sorry. I don't even know where here is.
[ And that's really getting on her nerves. So is the fact that ghosts aren't really that fun to mess with when they're like this. ]
Name's Amanda.
no subject
My name's Amy Rose! [ She smiles, using one of her hands to pull her dress back from the now frowning boy. ] It's nice to meet you Amanda. [ Although she wishes it were under...... better circumstances. ]
Did you want to come along? [ With her, and the ghostly little boy. ] Maybe we can find something that'll tell us more about what's going on. I have a feeling we'll find something good!
no subject
[ Well this little pink. Girl. Amanda would like an inkling as to what, more exactly, she is, but for now, she's friendly and that's good enough.
She rests the broom on her shoulder. ]
Same I guess. Kind of a crappy welcome party, though.
[ Amanda shrugs, putting plenty of effort into looking like she doesn't give many fucks. ]
I don't have anything better to do, so sure.
no subject
Great! [ She perks up quickly, certainly noticing the blatant efforts she puts out but ignoring it in favor of tugging at her hand. Now that the boy finally has the freedom to lead the way, he starts off into an excited jog. ] He's been real pushy about following him, so it must be important.
And if it isn't, at least he has some time with us, before he goes back to wherever he needs to..
no subject
[ Amanda would hightail it out of there too, at least if she wasn't geared up for a fight. Now, if she could figure out where her wand went... ]
Uh, I mean, you never know with kids.
[ Even ghost kids are probably like 'this is really important!' and then they lead you to a big bug or something. Amanda's a little off balance with the whole hand grabbing thing, but it's time to go with the flow. ]
Either way... yeah. Kids shouldn't be alone.
OOH BOY i'm moving to a new house rn so i'm slow but I GOTTA. moon gazing
As far as strolls go. Because, make no mistake, it is a stroll. Not a jog.
This is the worst.
That's what he's thinking. Then he sees a familiar face in the flowers, and realizes that, no, now it's the worst.
(just kidding - he's happy to see a friend of his, even if the thought of the reunion about to happen is slightly terrifying.) ]
-- Amy? Is that you? Woah, when did you get here?
[ YOUR KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR HAS ARRIVED ]
AAHH it's ok i'm always a lil slow, but i'm excited nevertheless..!!
[ maybe THIS is her power......summoning her bf into battle ]
Of course it's me, Sonic! [ She'd be offended that he'd even think about forgetting her, if not for the fact she's just so.. so happy to see him! She pushes herself off the ground only to run over. The reunion that happens is definitely just as terrifying as he thinks it will be, what with the way Amy lunges herself at Sonic just to get in her hug.
The hug, literally this whole day, she thought she would never have again.. She radiates pure relief and joy. ]
I just got here today! You won't believe all the things that happened.. [ She stops squeezing him to straighten up, as if realizing something very important. ] But I didn't see you anywhere. How did you get here?
the idea of that being her actual power is hilarious...... just sayin
Ergh... Yup, it's you, all right, [ he squeaks, sounding exasperated - but in a fond sort of way as he gives her a few pats on the back in response. She seems so happy, and he can't bring himself to rain on her parade. Besides, it had been kind of lonely being here on his own. The others here are nice, and he's perfectly fine on his own, of course... but he does treasure all his friends back home. Having a familiar face around is nice. That said, once she releases him, he's definitely taking a few gulps of air and hoping his ribs aren't bruised. ] Whew... Nice to see you, too... I think.
[ he shakes his head a little, brushing back his quills with one hand. ]
I dunno. Same way you did, I'm guessing! I just sort of... woke up here. Word on the street is that a witch called us here for help. [ a pause. ] Unless you mean here-here. I was taking a midnight... walk.
👀👀👀 if you give the blessing id be happy to make it reality
Her mouth closes shut some seconds after he's finished, a slight pout to her lips. ]
Hey, who are you? [ She doesn't mean it seriously, said more with disbelief than anything else, it's just she can't help but think how ridiculous that sounds coming from him. It would kind of explain how she got in that hug so successfully (which she is still very much happy about).. but she knows him better than that, to slow down and smell the metaphorical and physical roses. And as much as she hates to admit it.. ]
My Sonic doesn't take walks. [ Amy points a finger in his direction, the other hand resting on her hip. ] Especially romantic, midnight walks!
LMFAO PLEASE
Uhh... I couldn't sleep?
[ he'd been cool with telling some of the strangers he met around that he'd lost his #1 power, but somehow, telling Amy about it feels... super embarrassing? It's like getting caught in public with no pants on... Wait.
in any case, Sonic is an incredibly bad liar. ]
arrival!
Friends? You have friends!?
[ Like she's one to talk. ]
no subject
Why is that a question?!
[ Unlike someone here....Amy is well versed in talking and seeing humans. She's still offended at the fact that's the only thing she manages to overhear, and focuses on, despite everything else going on. ]
