NAME: Homura Akemi

anyway slightly more seriously, Homura is a tiny, too-serious magical girl who somehow happens to be Madoka's best friend. We're not sure how this happened either, okay, other than Madoka having too much hope for us all.

She's reserved and ~~awkward~~ distant and more than a little prone towards skepticism of generally everything up to and including shady figures granting magic without telling them of any drawbacks or repercussions, but is also squishy at heart despite being made out of willpower, self-denial, and determination. She promised to protect people, after all! And being nice is what Madoka would want anyway, so even if she wanted to be cold and standoffish she can't, really...

as far as her canon point goes, she's ep-12, pre-rebellion! fighting with bows it is.
MAGIC: Redirection. So far Homura's employed this in redirection loops, accidental on purpose berry deflection, and playing with light trajectories for a fun heat haze effect. Dirk is already suggesting the idea of decoupling the an object from the force acting on it, but alas to the disappointment of both Homura won't be able to manage that whenever she gets around to experimenting. Yet, maybe. She's been relatively forthcoming on the basics with those who ask despite her normal reticence, so far. ...So far.

but if we need some more specifics:
- i will repeat from the newbie intro meme 'please teach this child how to properly social, she's had like twelve years to practice and it's only gotten worse over time...'

also honestly i have to keep rereading my threads to make sure i haven't already had her hairflip within the last 3 comments because between the different ones with different characters it feels like i'm constantly having her hairflip whoops BUT ANYWAY

first off: i still need to tag our intro log thread, i promise i did not forget. just been a bit slow!

but anyway, i would love to develop real cr with homura. madoka is jude's assistant nurse and he's quite fond of her, so naturally, he needs to get to know her tragic bff too.

also first of all, good taste in tales. second of all, well if he's friends with Madoka Homura will have to know about this. and then get pulled into friendship or whatever cr actually ends up developing along the way.

THANK YOU.... i've played uhhhh every modern tales game that's been released in eng minus hearts r but xillia/2 are my favorites, despite their flaws.

SHE WILL LEARN ABOUT THIS THEN. madoka and jude are bros, she's joining their friendship circle.

oh xillia 2, you were still an enjoyable experience but you deserved better...

but i get you. i'm probably way too kneejerk defensive of x2 (or what it could have been-- justice for post ch7 altmilla.........) despite its flaws, and x1 has grown on me despite not leaving as much of an impression as it should've the first time, relative to other tales ofs. which i mean is still more than a lot of game series can say anyway so. unfortunately my attention span and time for longplays was starting to peter off by zestiria, so i'm kind of just slowly chugging my way through berseria not out of any fault of the game itself, it's been a very enjoyable ride

my salt for xillia 2 is endless and yet i am also SUPER kneejerk defensive of it. i love it so, so much and i wish it had lived up to the amazing potential it had because it really could have been a 10x better game. that doesn't mean i haven't played it three times and cried my eyes out, though!!!! my solution to everything was to just write an obnoxious amount of fic and rp a whole bunch.

xillia 1... i'm not going to get into this super long rant here but i need to redact milla's side and pretend it doesn't exist in order to love it as much as i do. dgmw i adore milla, i just... really can't stand her side because it's such an injustice to her and so much skipped character development and Ugh.

berseria is so good. so good. like, i think it's objectively the best modern tales game? they're all so different but berseria just... nails everything.

FOR REAL THOUGH... sure just skip all??? the character development scenes???? cool we get a spooky spirit world look fine that's great meanwhile TRAUMA AND FALLOUT IN HAMIL

i love these characters and wish they received better dammit. x2 or: if you're a new character you either die or are inconsequential. if you're a returning character you get a lot of useless screentime to take away from the newbies while also never getting to... actually flex your narrative muscles... like I'm sure between Lord of Spirits, King+Prime Minister of RM more could've been... done with that...... but yeah no have fun!!!

X2 you emotionally manipulative brat of a game, I say through the tears in my eyes as I watch the endings for the umpteenth time. clearly the universal solution is to fic and rp a bunch, that probably explains the julius blog i had for one year over on tumblr

and yes berseria has been...... very good so far....... I'm glad the series picked itself back up after zestiria's reception

i like how everything that happened with alvin/leia in hamil and then with agria/presa was covered in one convenient "shit happens" skit. liked that. liked that a lot. also loved milla slobbering over jude's dick. listen, i can 1000% accept the ENTIRE PARTY having a big crush on milla maxwell, like, all of them, but don't tell me milla would just... prioritize jude over everyone else... ??? it's such a different perspective from jude's side i just really, really prefer to stick with that and call it a whole game. causes me less pain.
