Let me add to the shorty train and throw an android at you! He's small, he's more than willing to complain about pointless sidequests, and he's made for protecting mankind.

Most relevant to your list: he's a nice guy and hopefully a good influence, and being an android model not intended for fighting (and yet being very interested in it) he could make a calculated opponent for a spar. Also I mean if you want some banter/sass...

i love 9s! i think the two of them will bounce off each other well, he can be a good straight man for her antics.. but still put up with them for some reason.. you don't have to put up with this nines c'mo

Maybe he'll call her out now and then...and given his intuitive nature try to look out for her when he sees there's a Need. He's here to protect all these humans but Nanami please... This is going to be beautiful, I just know it.

She can talk about her bro and he can tell her about 2B. Or just make Will Smith gestures at 2B.
