You blink and that's all it takes. At first the picture doesn't come in clear, like you're waiting for a screen to fully load -- more aptly, it's like you're waiting for a camera to focus so you can find image clarity. Before you happened to rapidly close your eyes and open them, your life was normal...well, normal for you, anyway. Fighting an alien, making a quesadilla, dying. And then that blurry picture suddenly takes over. There's a lot to take in here -- you feel weird, your surroundings are weird. Everything is just weird. For starters, there's that new piece of jewelry inserted in the space above your chest. That certainly wasn't there before you opened your eyes.
If this new little signet catches their interest, fiddling with it will result in a bit of a neural vibration in everyone else with telepathy. Nothing painful; it's actually quite pleasant. But if they do decide to play with this new jewelry, they're likely to find some seasoned telepaths (aka old coven members) in their brain space, wondering that's up. A2 ▢ Alternatively, new coven members are notorious for being bad at telepathy from the jump. Their panicked reation to this journey or confused mental state may send out some network messages that maybe they didn't realize they were sending out. Or, maybe what's pushing them over the edge are all the other voices already doing exactly that in their brain. B ▢ Unlike the previous coven members who found themselves on the hub, new recruits won't find as many supplies randomly in the forest they're suddenly in. However, like old coven members, they will come across some wild boars that aren't too happy to see the humans have returned to their stomping ground. Your character may also come across a boar with babies in tow, which means that they're even more likely to be aggressive. If your character has useful magic within them somewhere, now may be a good time to discover how to use it...? C ▢ Whether you've braved a boar encounter or avoided one entirely, there's a lot to do and see in the forest, as well as other areas of the hub! Well, "do" is debatable. But! Coven members before them have discovered some pretty nifty locations that can be stumbled upon, from a phallic fertility shrine to tree homes and passageways. |

If you eventually make it out of the forest and aren't devoured by a boar, you'll eventually come upon your new base camp. Someone (Genette) will be there with your introductory letter and a brief description of magic you now have. If you didn't discover it earlier...surprise! One thing of comfort might be that you aren't alone in this journey. There are other coven members here, fresh back from a journey to another world. If your character wants to get the lay of the land or understand what's going on a little better, they may want to hit up some of these folk for information. There's a large, gold, floating caravan hanging around next to a bonfire, and there's a back gate open that reveals something of a space pocket containing lots of different things. Luckily for new characters, the Palai from the previous world didn't want them to go hungry...which also means they'll be inundated with shrimp to eat. Hopefully they like shellfish!
E ▢ This will also be the place where they're given their first provisions. In a woven knapsack, they'll find a bag of cooked shrimp, a set of clothes (you pick the style) that may not fit, a toothbrush, and three other random objects -- dealer's choice! It's very likely that your character got something useful in there, but it's also likely you got something that your character would never use in a million years, or that doesn't fit. Time to start trading! F ▢ Finally, there's always the chance for your character to explore the big mansion next to the beach area. Actually, they may be asked to lend a hand. Everyone is tasked with unloading supplies from the caravan to the front foyer of the mansion, and there are quite a few trips to be mad. Or, alternatively, your character can slack off and play in the game room that they have. How good is your character at pool? |

If you're much more of a loner and don't want to follow the flow of things, there are of course other locations that you should probably check out. Travel to your heart's content and find something new...but there are two other points of interest you may want to discover.
H ▢ Your character may want to claim a beach house while they're at it. Some characters have disappeared from the coven over time, and some of these few may have left their belongings before departing. This makes it hard to tell what huts are free and which need to be cleared out. Might as well play roulette and see if you picked one that doesn't have an owner or not. (For the sake of the prompt, you might want to choose the former, just saying). I ▢ Wildcard prompt. Go nuts and utilize your own creativity within the setting. This can mean striking out on your own or utilizing a certain location in a different way. The world is your oyster! |
Kurosawa Dia | Love Live:Sunshine
[On the outside it looks like this young woman is trying her best to keep it together. Strange new place, no real explanation of why she's here, and no one she knows. She's been sitting outside of one of the empty beach houses for at least the last hour.
If any of the old or new coven members were to tune into her poor lack of telepathy control...]
I haven't prepared for this, I've not been camping in a long time, and what if I don't show up back at home? Ruby will worry, surely our parents too. How did this happen.
Simple, it must be a dream. It is definitely a dream. I will wake up soon and nothing will be out of the ordinary...
[Someone should tell her she's basically talking out loud.]
B.
[Dia certainly didn't realize that trying to go back to where she woke up in the forest would lead her back to home, or wake her up from this extremely realistic nightmare.
Alas, that only leads her straight to the area where a boar mother and her two babies were passing through. The boar— seeing Dia as a threat has he now backed up to a tree.]
Good boar, nice boar.... forgive me for trespassing.
[There is a short scream as the boar acts like it's going to charge and climbing a tree might not be an option and who really thought that talking to an enraged boar would really help anything?!]
D.
[Are you an experienced coven member? Well, if you look like one... you will have this young lady approaching you.]
You, there. I need you to help me understand what is going on right now.
[The letter, the powers... she really doesn't seem to believe any of this.]
WILDCARD
[Go wild guys! If you want to plot something different you are free to hit up this journal or my plurk over @
a
It's not a dream. [A pause.] Or if it is, it's a really long dream, and we're all having it.

She doesn't answer back at first, hesitating.]
This simply isn't possible. It has to be a dream.

[ it's not addressed to her, no, but the boar instead. percival stands in front of dia, meeting the gaze of the currently enraged animal. it charges, and rams its head against his calves... ]
Agh...! Oi, I told you...
[ it snarls for a moment, and percival ignores the bruising he can...now feel rather vividly as he crouches and extends his hand. ]
You will come to no harm. [ he glances at dia, beckoning her to follow suit. ] We ask for your permission...will you allow us to pass through?
no subject
She is sorry for troubling this man, and getting his calves headbutted in the process.]
It was not my intention to harm you or your babies.
[Instead of crouching, she takes a deep bow. Extending her apology to the boar.]
d.
A newcomer. How can I assist you?
no subject
[She just honestly needs someone to help her understand the position she is in. She hasn't yet accepted the fact that there really is no way home.]
no subject
Even if you are a normal human being, you will discover that you are given a magical ability. Do not be alarmed as I show you an example...
[He holds out his palm towards Dia yet keeps a fair distance as purple wisps form in his hand. It takes shape and in his palm now sits a small orb-like owl with wide eyes staring at the girl.]
This power is something I never had back in my world.
no subject
She is very much between being a little frightened and a little amazed.]
And this witch wishes to grant us powers in exchange for assisting her?
[This all sounds so far fetched.]
wildcard
That leads to another question, however. Where are they, exactly? Getting an answer to that proves to be more difficult than she considered it to be. While she's been trying to find out what island is this, Riko takes a sight of Dia and approaches the other girl after wiping her eyes and making sure she's not just imagining her.
It's truly reassuring to see someone familiar, despite the bizarre situation they've found themselves in. Riko, who's been squealing at almost every single thing she encountered (honorable mention goes to the boar), manages to calm down a little. At least until they're told that they should pick a hut.
Why would they need a hut, they're going home soon, Riko simply doesn't understand. They have something very important to do there.
The thought that they really may have to stay here much longer is quite upsetting, but it sinks in when they're closer to the huts. ]
Dia-san...do you think it's really alright for us to go inside? Wouldn't that be trespassing?
[ There's simply no telling which huts are vacant and which ones are not. Especially not from the outside. ]
no subject
Where are they, what purpose does this serve? Why were they granted some mysterious magical powers. This is all so...wrong. This is wrong and she wants to go back home. The rest of the girls must be so worried about them.]
Riko-san...
[They are confronted with this issue. Go in and risk it being someone elses hut.... or go in and be lucky.]
I suggest that we go inside, and if this belongs to someone else we apologize for intruding on their space. There would be no sense in staying outside until dark. What if those boars come to camp?
no subject
[ There's no need for Dia to repeat that twice. Trespassing or not, Riko's not risking another encounter with those animals. Even if it could mean getting into trouble. ]
You're absolutely right, Dia-san.
[ One deep breath later, Riko steps in closer to the door of one of the huts and knocks. Once, twice, but there's no response at all, which might be both good news and bad news. Hopefully, it's the former. Riko opens the door slightly and takes a peek inside. ]
I don't think that anybody lived here before...so it should be fine, right?
[ There are no personal belongings, just beds and lots of dust, which might be a proof that Riko's theory is true. ]
no subject
I think this should be okay... if anyone comes here. We will leave and find another hut.
[For now, Dia is going to take her mind off of the situation by sprucing up the room. Trying her best to wipe dust away.]

It's not quite the weapon he had hoped for in playing bead roulette, but it serves well as a distraction, the boar at least frozen in place in a stupor. ]
no subject
Shrimp?
[She truly is dumbfounded.]
no subject
[ Because that's certainly what it is. It smell pretty strongly of fishy salt water, the boar unable to decide whether it should rifle through the pile with its snout, or return to its original target. That would be bad, so Minato takes a step back away from the fridge, motioning for Dia to follow. ]
no subject
... how?
[Shrimp? Fridge? Appearing out of seemingly nowhere?]

[ From where she's squatting down at the side of the one of the babies Hanamaru seems pleasantly lost in petting the wild animal. Of course, why would she be worried? She's clearly dreaming, and any possibly dangerous mama boars are currently off chasing a poor student council president up a very sturdy looking tree.
Not that Hanamaru has noticed yet. She heard a scream of course, a familiar one at that, but from where she's kneeling besides the boar she doesn't exactly notice Dia halfway up the tree. Or the mama boar either for that matter. ]
--Hm? What was that scream?
no subject
She doesn't know how to get away from this.]
Shoo, shoo! Go away! I didn't touch your baby!
[Mama boar CLEARLY doesn't care.]
no subject
Then again, maybe it's because this is most definitely a dream that Maru isn't the one screaming... ]
What are you doing up in the tree, Dia-san?
[ Mama boar will probably be noticing Hanamaru soon but until then Hanamaru hasn't quite recognized the danger. ]

d.......
Why? [ it's said curtly, arms folded across his chest. ]

I want confirmation that all of this is real. I don't believe this situation can be real.

his expression is unchanging. really, he could hardly care less. there goes the idea that she knows more than he does. still, his brows furrow together and without warning he reaches out and - and pinches her on her forearm.
SHE ASKED FOR A CONFIRMATION, RIGHT? ]
