uvi defense plan update!
Hey! I just thought I'd update people with regards to our plotting around the Uvi raid on 8/8 (Day 32) -- anyone who signed up for a position on the last post, please read through this one! I'll try and keep it relatively short.
(If you signed up for a team, assume you're on it--I think the numbers should work out all right so far. It's also not too late to sign up for a team!)
MEETING WITH THE PALAI
Around DAY 29/30, Jay and Dirk would have gone to a few people (this is the eventual negotiation team: Mitsuki, Akira, Haru, Ann) and and asked for their help getting a bunch of the Palai together so they could discuss forming a defense plan and other Uvi-related stuff! They would have discussed something like this, and the response would have been . . . not that favorable. Basically, the Palai don't think there's any solution to the Uvi problem except just hiding and hoping for the best, and what help they'd give the coven (in terms of providing information, etc.) is done only reluctantly.
At this point, Jay and Dirk would have sent out a telepathic message to everyone who attended the meeting saying basically that the Palai weren't terribly receptive, but the plan for Aimintas' defense and the recon plan is still on for anyone who wants a part of it. They will warn that the Uvi are coming in larger numbers than they'd previously thought (the 200 number will be mentioned), so anyone who can and is willing to fight should be prepared to do so.
THE ACTUAL DEFENSE PLAN
The defense team consists of:
LOOKOUTS: spread around the perimeter of the city, in strategic locations. Will alert the coven via telepathy as to Uvi arrival/position of approach/numbers.
GROUND "TROOPS": clustered around residential areas of the city, with instructions to try and lead the Uvi out and away from the Palai, towards the center of the city/marketplace.
HEALERS/MEDICS: scattered among ground fighters
If you're part of the defense effort, assume that you've been given a starting position and instructions to this effect! We won't get so granular as to assign people teams, etc. but characters probably know who the people positioned closest to them are, so feel free to plot team ups, call for backup to a particular location, etc.
RECONNAISSANCE
The outcome of this is tbd based on how the attack goes down generally and other things which I will PM the mods about, but the mobile team will be attempting to follow the retreating Uvi back to wherever they live and gathering information about them!

Geir can definitely help with the defense on the day of the attack either way - I'm just trying to figure out how much he'll know and how plausible it is that he'd already have started coordinating with everyone else, in case IC threads don't get there. (He can also just notice that an attack is happening and crash into whatever IC setup you have on the day itself. I'm sure that was secretly part of Jay's plan all along.)
