They've stopped both sanctioned and summary executions a long time ago. Nowadays, people just think they're crazy.

Personally, I think knowing how to use magic must be convenient. Witches can speak to their familiars, don't they? That would be nice. Of course, magic isn't real so I don't seriously entertain the thought.
