[ he isn't actually going with the weird ghost children, but he also doesn't necessarily feel inclined to leave. they're not harming him, or really doing much of anything except constantly tugging on his coat to make him go somewhere, which roy isn't inclined to do. so, really -- just more of a bother than anything else . . . but at a familiar voice, roy immediately turns his attention, his brow furrowing, because --

it's fairly obvious that roy looks startled -- but it's more than that. it isn't the typical surprise of seeing someone familiar in a strange new world what has such people in it, but a real shock -- almost a mixture of concern and stunned, thrown in there for good measure.

that isn't possible. it can't be possible. throughout the fall of the fuhrer and father and all the rest that had happened (losing his sight, seeing the truth, regaining his sight), roy knows that many details in what happened throughout that madness must have been lost on him, in their collective fight to just survive. however, what he knows, for a fact, is that alphonse and edward succeeded in their mission.

so -- ]

Alphonse.

[ finally, a bit -- unsettled, and stunned, as roy turns to him, and -- completely ignores the ghost children, which probably isn't the smartest thing in the world to do, but he has more important things before him now. and roy is about to ask the obvious question (what happened), but instead: ]

. . . other than being kidnapped and thrown into a new dimension, I'm fine. [ best to reassure that, first, and while roy is itching to get to the point, he also knows that's a conversation likely had in private. ] They haven't harmed me, or shown any real intention on doing anything except attempt to get me to play their game.

[ and he pauses, that that. ]

I think we've all read enough ghost stories to know why that's a poor decision.
