Eve | NieR: Automata

[There were certain expectations Eve had about being dead, not the least of which being that it would be permanent. At least kind of permanent. Mostly. He hadn't disconnected from the machine network, and he didn't think 9S forcibly disconnected him from it, either, but his body had certainly died, so shouldn't he be floating around as data in the ether, maybe possessing a stubby from time to time at best?

He certainly didn't expect being on a new world, having his body back, being healed and healthy (arm? check. hole in the head? definitely no check.), and... contending with some angry holograms?]

H-hey! What are you doing?

[Attempting to shove him, for one, and when that doesn't really work as expected, the silent spectre certainly doesn't give up, shifting its attention to attempting to throw things at him instead with slightly better success. He should probably leave. Probably. Instead, he's definitely trying to get it to answer for itself with less success than the spirit itself was having in its own endeavors.]

What did I do?

[At least the boars are something familiar. Finally. They - and moose, and fish, and machine lifeforms - have the run of Earth, as far as Eve knows, so to see them also running wild here (wherever here is) isn't new at all.

What is new is the aggressive undead boars that he can't warp away from why can't he warp away from them. What he can do instead is either run like hell or try and deck them in the face when they come charging at him. Maybe the skeletal ones will fall apart. Maybe they'll be deterred. Maybe they'll just keep going, trying to gore him or bite him or both until he has no choice but to enact operation: run like hell, his pride be damned.]

[Finally, something new and unfamiliar that isn't out to kill or maim him. The Earth had long since stopped its rotation, so the darkness of night, the soft glow of moonlight, were still fascinating. Kind of boring, in that there was a certain austere beauty to it all and not much else, but Eve still found himself captivated, still felt the impulse to fall backwards onto the ground, into the grass, sending glowing flower petals fluttering up in the air around him so he can just watch the sky.

Adam would probably be more interested than he was. Probably. Or he'd think it was trite, and would start rattling off facts about glowing flowers and about how the moon worked on Earth, and that it was remarkable now, but they shouldn't act like it was, because it was completely normal to humans. But he wasn't here to prove either theory right or wrong. Which was strange. This was some kind of afterlife, right? So he should have been here first... Maybe he was just off researching something. That had to be it. He'd show up sooner or later, tell Eve that these glowing flowers were legendary for imparting knowledge to humans - or something to that effect - and would expect him to study.

So he could take the chance to relax until he was found, right? Right. Until he got stir-crazy, at least.]
