NAME: Yamato Hotsuin
CANON: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker
INFO: Yamato is seventeen (somehow) and the leader of a secret government organization known as JP's. It's basically an organization created to protect Japan from super-special alien invaders that are also stars, and demons. Yamato is a very emotionally stunted young man who believes in merit above all else. If you're useful he'll like you. If you're just a boring civilian that complains? He'll hate you. He doesn't really have friends and has spent his entire life groomed to take over JP's. He is very business-orientated and has zero idea about mundane things like dodgeball and street food. In the second arc of the game, he begins to warm up to the idea that every person has potential and that people aren't that bad. He still isn't an overly friendly guy but he does warm up to people eventually.

NAME: Akira Kurusu
CANON: Persona 5
INFO: Akira is the protagonist of the game and leads the Phantom Thieves who are a jolly group of misunderstood teenagers that use their phones to enter the mind of corrupt individuals. Once inside, they steal the "heart" of the criminal to change their mind about their evil doings. Akira's codename is Joker but hasn't gone by that in his time here in the coven. Akira's been here since the beginning of the game and he's extremely open to new friends and listening whenever someone needs an ear. Akira is a jokester and very rarely is serious. He enjoys deadpan and theatrics from time to time and will not hesitate to quote a meme at you.
MAGIC: When he tells a pun or joke, his hands catch on fire. It's a great time.

-from the post-apocalypse, it was a Waterworld apocalypse but he did not have to drink his own pee
-not very expressive either in voice or face, in that he never learned how to emote much? he's more readable if you're good at microexpresions
-irony is cool but he's usually fairly genuine, just monotonous and sometimes deadpan
-bad at fashion. so bad. please send help.

-he's so awkward
-he really likes technology and wants to build things to make life easier

MAGIC: "The ability to break down that which he can fully conceptualize," which he initially will interpret as fully destructive, but which can also be used to destroy, for example, an injury, or even conceptual things. The limitation is of course that things can be hard to fully conceptualize.

NAME: Magilou
CANON: Tales of Berseria
INFO: Magilou is at first blush a very animated and loud young lady. Her outfit is just as bright as her personality. She's obnoxious, invades personal space, and sometimes is far too blunt. She hardly takes things seriously and she tends to get on people's nerves. She's a self-proclaimed witch and is in her late twenties despite looking like a teenager. Magilou grew up an orphan and was adopted by a jerk named Melchior who cast her aside when she didn't live up to her true potential. Magilou has abandonment issues and therefore doesn't really ever truly get close to anyone. She'll keep in contact with people but rarely does she let anyone in. It's hard to notice that she's this broken and has given up on her "heart." She's been here since September!
MAGIC: Imitation! She can mimic any noise (voices, too) for a short burst of time.

ABOUT: i'm old... I live in NY, I attend law school in the city, it's my last year so my schedule's always gonna be a bit nuts. My plurk is largely arrpee, law school, and probably hissing at bleach/ibo or... assortments of whatever. I HAVE!!! DOG!!!!!

NAME: Gaelio Bauduin (Vidar)
CANON: Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
INFO: pretentious link.

Once upon a time an easy-going and naturally rude yet tots charming guy, his best friend killed him (mostly) and he didn't take it well. His frivolity has become severe rigidity, as he's hyperfocused on killing the dude back, but because the circumstances aren't right here, is having to... deal.

In a weird and mentally UMMMMMMMMM place, he's silent, reclusive, and serious. Tends toward philosophical introspection and noncommittal responses, largely indifferent to many things or faintly/weirdly amused by what could be weird or... just... lots of things. A bit too flippant about his own body/well-being, even as he "bears many things" on his shoulders. hE'S CRAZY and i'm terrified a little boring, but at least i got to play like, 2.5 seconds of the cute one in the dream thread.

MAGIC: ILLUSIONS. It's complicated sometimes, see above link. As for player permissions, my current approach is in thread, to make it quite obvious what he's trying to do, and leave it open as to whether or not you want your character affected.

If it's ever an actual "attack," I intend to message more directly.

CR REQUESTS: EVERYTHING... but I need to make myself more specific:

there are two types of people, not necessarily exclusive, for which he still manages to care about (or more easily):

those who have dedicated themselves to other people and fight to improve themselves for their sake, because loyalty kink &
people who are rude/blunt/etc. pester him, because funny.

he has a real weird relationship with friendship atm and compassion, though he used to be a very compassionate guy, he's "lost his heart." much as i'm like GOD HE'S SO BORING NOW I'M SORRY, he actually has potential to regain fractured frivolity... like long-term goals both with and without McGillis are to enable him to start to heal/regain himself without actually having to kill McGillis (and thus be crazy and sad forever) and five years passing... so cute inspirational people are a plus

his canon was way dumb in how it handled his relationship with his much younger sister (he's now 28, she's 11), so lucky me there are so many youngish girls, i.e., I am interested in him despite himself developing fraternal feelings and actually getting to be a good big brother (aND AS HE LOOSENS UP, TEASING!!!)

ABOUT: I have a long and meticulously kept list of terrible puns that I come across in my travels, and I do inflict it on others often. I'm not sorry.

NAME: Madoka Kaname
CANON: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
INFO: Madoka is a tiny magical girl who always tries her best, and she loves her friends and people in general a whole lot! She also has a universe-bending amount of hope inside and has a habit of ruining people with it. In a good way. I think.

Madoka is:

- super friendly! She will make friends with just about anyone.
- naive tbh
- eager to help, often to a fault
- a terrible artist, but she's trying.
- pretty well versed in helping sort out nightmares, thanks to her canon point. If your character needs some moral support or help figuring out everything thanks to the dream sharing, Madoka's their gal.
- cursed with a healthy heap of Suffering, but she is pretty good at dealing with it
- she fights with a bow and arrow, both on low and high frequency worlds
MAGIC: Madoka can heal any injury, no matter how grave — but only once every 24 hours. Thanks to the Eltos pendant, she can also concentrate the spell and throw it, in the event that someone is too far away to heal normally!
CR REQUESTS:
I love any and all CR! Here are a few ideas I have in mind, too:

- foils! people who will challenge her worldviews, or who will take advantage of her naivete.
- INJURED PEOPLE. she needs to practice her pendant-enhanced healing, so please, feel free to lose a fight to a boar or a cliff and call on her for help. Just don't injure yourself twice in 24 hours please.
- people she can help. let Madoka absorb your despair like the Law of Cycles that she is

INFO: Goro Akechi is a teenage detective and local celebrity. He's a friendly and polite young man who works hard to uncover the truth and bring injustice to light, and opposes the Phantom Thieves (aka the protagonists) early on because he sees them as dangerous vigilantes who should be tried in a court of law.

Or at least, that's the public image he's created. While he outwardly presents himself as Lawful Good, he's actually pretty cynical and distrustful of others due to his upbringing and isn't quite as nice as people think he is. Also, he's also a nerd who likes sentai shows and he can summon a Persona, a manifestation of his psyche. Said Persona is Robin Hood, who is a bara tiddy monster.

MAGIC: Friction manipulation, but if you ask him he'll say his power is to expel a cotton ball from his wrist once a week. Gotta keep his cards close.
